Here is the weekly review of the top performing Lithuanian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Marius Grigonis (198-94, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He led his Spanish team CB Canarias to a victory over the fourth-ranked PAOK (7-7) crushing them 80-54 in the Basketball Champions League in Wednesday night's game. Grigonis was MVP of the game. He scored 20 points and added 5 passes in 25 minutes on the court. Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (11-3) is placed first in group D. It's Grigonis' first season with the team. This year Grigonis averages: 8.8ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 61.3%(19-31), 3FGP: 30.8% and FT: 82.1% in 12 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-90, currently plays in Turkey). Orelik was the major contributor in Banvit's victory against one of league's weakest teams Balikesir (3-17) 79-73 in a derby game in the Turkish BSL last Saturday. He scored 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Banvit Basketbol Kulubu (15-5) is placed fourth in the BSL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Orelik has relatively good stats this season: 14.1ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 56.7%(34-60), 3FGP: 43.2% and FT: 79.2%. He played for the Lithuanian national team in 2015.

   #3. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Jonas Valanciunas (213-92, currently plays in NBA). Valanciunas was the main contributor in a Toronto Raptors' victory against the New Orleans Pelicans (25-40) 94-87 in the NBA on Wednesday night. He was the best player in that game. Valanciunas had a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 13 rebounds in 34 minutes. The Toronto Raptors have 38-26 record this season. Valanciunas is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Raptors' roster. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Valanciunas averages: 12.2ppg, 9.6rpg, 2FGP: 54.8% and FT: 82.6% in 62 games. He is also a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

Swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Estonia) contributed to Parnu's victory against the league outsider Noorteliiga (0-15) 83-69 in the Estonian Alexela KML in Tuesday night's game. Seskus was the top player that evening. He recorded a double-double by scoring 34 points and getting 11 rebounds. Parnu Sadam (4-0) is placed first in the Alexela KML. So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season. This season Seskus has relatively solid stats: 14.8ppg, 4.7rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2015.

Former University international forward Arnas Labuckas (205-87, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Latvia) contributed to a VEF Riga's victory against the eighth-ranked BK Ogre (9-15) 84-75 in the Latvian LBL in Wednesday night's game. Labuckas was the top player that evening. He recorded 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. VEF Riga (12-3) is placed fourth in the LBL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Labuckas' overall stats are: 7.3ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.6apg in 15 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team eight years ago.

Krestinin recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group A. Vasiliauskas was the top player that evening. He scored 18 points and added 4 passes. Muratbey Usak Sportlif Basketbol (6-14) is placed 13th in the BSL. They ended the series of four consecutive loses. Vasiliauskas' stats this season are: 12.1ppg, 2.3rpg and 4.3apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team back in 2014.

Sajus scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 28 minutes. Polpharma Starogard Gdanski (12-11) is placed 12th in the PLK. Sajus averaged so far 10.7ppg and 6.4rpg in 21 games. He is also in the roster of the Lithuanian U20 national team.

They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Anisimovas averaged so far 11.4ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.0apg.    #11. Former U20 international power forward Gilvydas Biruta (203-91, college: Rhode Island, currently plays in Greece) could not help Aiolos Trikallon (8-12) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Aiolos Trikallon was defeated 97-86 on the road by the higher-ranked PAOK (#6). Biruta was the second best scorer with 19 points. He also added 7 rebounds. Biruta averaged so far 11.0ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.4apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team six years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international guard Mantas Cesnauskis (189-81, currently plays in Poland) helped Energa Czarni win their game against the closely-ranked PGE Turow 78-72 in the Polish PLK on Saturday night. Cesnauskis scored 13 points in 34 minutes. This year Cesnauskis' total stats are: 9.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.3apg in 21 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2000.

   #13. Former U20 international forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89, currently plays in Latvia) helped Ventspils win their game against the closely-ranked VEF Riga 80-77 in the Latvian LBL in Saturday night's game. Zelionis scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Zelionis averaged so far 11.3ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.6apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team eight years ago.

   #14. Former U21 international point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American, currently plays in Russia) helped Universitet-Yugra win their game against the closely-ranked Sakhalin 87-73 in the Russian Superleague 1 (second division) last Saturday. Lekavicius was the top player that evening. He had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 10 rebounds. Lekavicius also added 4 assists in 33 minutes. Lekavicius averaged so far 12.8ppg, 6.7rpg, 3.4apg and 1.8spg in 20 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U21 national team back in 2003.

   #15. Former international center Tautvydas Lydeka (208-83, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) managed to help Banco di Sardegna Sassari to win against the leader Le Mans 68-66 in the Basketball Champions League on Tuesday night. Lydeka scored only 4 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Lydeka has averaged so far 6.6ppg and 4.4rpg. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team eleven years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Lithuanian passport but never been selected to any of Lithuanian national teams:

   #1. Nik Stauskas (198-SG-93, college: Michigan, currently plays in NBA) could not help the Philadelphia 76ers (22-42) in their last game. Despite Stauskas' very good performance the Philadelphia 76ers (22-42) were crushed 136-106 on the road by the Detroit Pistons. He was the top scorer with 24 points. Stauskas also added 5 rebounds in 37 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was 76ers' third consecutive loss in a row. Stauskas has reliable stats this year: 9.2ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.1apg in 62 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Lithuanian.

   #2. Vytautas Kamarunas (178-PG-89, currently plays in Belarus) led COR-Borisfen to a victory over one of league's weakest teams GOCOR-Sozh (3-23) crushing them 108-57 in the Belarusian Premier League on Friday night. Kamarunas was the top player that evening. He scored 26 points (!!!), made 3 passes and 4 steals. COR-Borisfen Mogilev (24-2) is placed second in the Premier League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Kamarunas has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.3ppg, 2.6rpg, 5.5apg and 2.0spg.

   #3. John Shurna (204-F-90, college: Northwestern, currently plays in ABA League) contributed to a 2-point Cedevita's victory against the ninth-ranked Un.Olimpija (10-15) 94-92 in the ABA League in Sunday night's game. Shurna recorded 10 points in 20 minutes. KK Cedevita Zagreb (19-6) is placed second in the ABA League. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the ABA League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Shurna's total stats are: 8.1ppg and 2.4rpg in 16 games. He is a naturalized American. Despite Shurna's Lithuanian passport, he previously played for the USA U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Lithuanian team. Strangely Shurna has never played in Lithuania.

   #4. Dominykas Milka (203-C-92, college: St.Rose, NY, currently plays in Baltic League) was the main contributor in a Tartu Ulikool's victory against the closely-ranked Nevezis (8-4) 92-78 in the Baltic League on Tuesday night. Milka was the top player that evening. He scored 26 points (!!!) and grabbed 7 rebounds in 29 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Milka's third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group Q. Tartu Ulikoolis placed first. Milka has very impressive stats this year: 18.0ppg, 7.8rpg and 1.5apg in four games.

   #5. Experienced Benas Veikalas (192-G-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Germany) contributed to a BG Goettingen's victory against the closely-ranked ALBA Berlin (15-9) 81-76 in the German BBL last Sunday. He scored 10 points in 18 minutes. BG Goettingen (17-3) is placed second in the BBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Veikalas averaged so far 11.1ppg, 3.1rpg and 2.4apg in 23 games.

   #6. Justas Furmanavicius (198-F-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Mississippi win their game against the University of South Carolina 75-70 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 10 rebounds. Furmanavicius also added 4 assists in 32 minutes. Furmanavicius has averaged so far 6.4ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.1bpg in 31 games.

   #7. Marius Runkauskas (189-G-86, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Romania) was not able to help Steaua CSM (13-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance the second-placed Steaua CSM was defeated 72-67 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Pitesti (#5) in the Places 1-6 group. Runkauskas was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 4 rebounds and 3 assists. This season Runkauskas has very high stats. He averages: 15.3ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.1apg.

   #8. Martynas Kuksta (203-C-89, currently plays in Sweden) was not able to secure a victory for Hoganas (2-11) in their last game. Despite Kuksta's very good performance the eighth-placed Hoganas lost 73-84 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Helsingborg in the BEHS forts group. He was the top scorer with 37 points. Kuksta also added 9 rebounds in 33 minutes. Kuksta has very impressive stats this year: 17.6ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.9bpg in 19 games.

   #9. Andrius Mikutis (194-G/F-88, college: John Brown, currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in a SG Schwelmer Baskets' victory against the ninth-ranked Bonn II 72-65 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 16 rebounds in 30 minutes. Mikutis has very impressive stats this year: 18.0ppg, 8.4rpg and 1.9apg in 21 games.

   #10. Mantas Virbalas (202-C/F-88, currently plays in France) helped Lourdes-Tarbes win their game against the 11th-ranked Saint Vallier 89-81 in the French NM1 (third division) last Friday. He scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Virbalas has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2apg.

Talented Martynas Echodas (204-C/F-97) had an amazing evening in the last round for Siauliai and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 36. The 19-year old had the game-high 38 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Siauliai as his team lost the game against Neptunas (#4, 21-15) 78-85. The Regular Season in LKL just ended. Leader Zalgiris delivered the 33th win on Wednesday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Juventus (19-17) 90-76 in Kaunas. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Juventus. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 57-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game.
