Fifth-ranked Juventus (15-12) made lots of trouble for first ranked Zalgiris (24-3) in Utena on Sunday. The visitors from Kaunas managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 23-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was international point guard Lukas Lekavicius (180-94) who scored 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). French guard Leo Westermann (197-92, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. Zalgiris' coach Sarunas Jasikevicius used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first place with 24-3 record. Juventus at the other side keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Vytautas. Zalgiris are looking forward to face Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Juventus will play at home against Neptunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Siauliai. Local Siauliai (3-24) was outscored by fourth ranked Neptunas (16-11) 100-66. It was a good game for point guard Laurynas Beliauskas (189-97, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Matas Jucikas contributed with 17 points for the winners. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) answered with 12 points and 6 assists for Siauliai. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neptunas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 16-11 record. Siauliai lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Neptunas will play against Juventus (#6) in Utena in the next round. Siauliai will play on the road against Lietuvos rytas (#3) in Vilnius and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Other games of round 27 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Dzukija was crushed by Vytautas in Prienai 91-69. Lietuvos rytas beat P.Zvaigzdes at home 93-86. Nevezis was destroyed by Lietkabelis on the opponent's court 100-69.

There was no surprise in Prienai where 8th ranked Dzukija (7-20) was crushed by sixth ranked Vytautas (15-12) 91-69. The game without a history. Vytautas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Vytautas forced 20 Dzukija turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Dzukija's players. It was a good game for forward Vytenis Lipkevicius (196-89) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Vytenis Cizauskas (187-92) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Center Karolis Guscikas (205-92, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Jonathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Dzukija. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vytautas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Juventus. Dzukija at the other side keeps the eighth position with 20 games lost. Vytautas will play against league's second-placed Lietkabelis in Panevezys in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dzukija will play at home against the league's leader Zalgiris (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

No shocking result in a game in Vilnius where third ranked Lietuvos rytas (19-8) defeated 7th ranked P.Zvaigzdes (11-16) 93-86. The hosts were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 33-24 run, which allowed them to win the game. Lietuvos rytas made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 P.Zvaigzdes turnovers. Lietkabelis - Nevezis 100-69

Very expected game in Panevezys where 9th ranked Nevezis (6-21) was rolled over by second ranked Lietkabelis (19-8) 100-69. The game was mostly controlled by Lietkabelis. Nevezis was better in fourth quarter 30-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietkabelis dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Nevezis' players. It was a good game for the former international center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) who led his team to a victory with 18 points.
