Musel Pikes claim Diekirch League title - Apr 30, 2013

Musel Pikes celebrated the Diekirch League title. They knocked down Etzella at home court in the decisive third game of the title series. Carine Cigrang (175-PF-85) stepped up with 19 points to pace the winners. Musel Pikes gained control early in the encounter. They registered an 18:10 lead after ten minutes. Musel Pikes extended their lead in the second term. They went on a 23:14 rally in the period to establish a 41:24 halftime buffer. But Etzella refused to give up. The visitors went on a 17:14 run in the third term to narrow the gap. Moreover Etzella ignited a determined comeback rally in the final period getting within striking distance. But Musel Pikes stayed cool and secured the winning outcome at the end. Christine Fisher (183-F/C-83) delivered 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Amanda Stowe (186-F/C-79, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) added 11 points and 13 boards for Musel Pikes. Katie Donovan (178-G-82) answered with 24 points for Etzella. Annick Neiertz (183-F-92) chipped in 15 points in the loss.
Musel Pikes celebrated the LaLux Ladies Cup title. They held off T71 Dudelange in the Final tonight. Christine Fisher (183-F/C-83) came up with 22 points and 13 boards for the winners. Musel Pikes led by just two points after the opening quarter 14:12. The margin grew deeper in the second frame. Musel Pikes went on a 21:11 run to take a 35:23 halftime advantage. T71 Dudelange stopped the rot in the third term. They were able to narrow the gap. Dudelange trailed by 8 points before the final frame. But Musel Pikes exploded with 25 points in the fourth term and raced to the win at the end. Carine Cigrang (175-PF-85) chipped in 15 points, while Amanda Stowe (186-F/C-79, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) provided 13 points and 6 boards for the winning team. Iasia Hemingway (180-F-89, agency: Merit Sports, college: Syracuse) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds for T71. Larrie Williams (187-C-90, agency: LBM Management, college: La-Monroe) posted 17 points in defeat.
