Blazej Masura, the new head coach for Soleuvre and his club must be very happy to get a win! Racing, on the other hand, will continue to seek their first taste of victory. Soleuvre had an amazing 36-19 start and hung on throughout the 2nd and 3rd period with a 13 point lead going into the 4th where they completely dominated Racing 15-7. Corey Largent (200-F-80, college: W.Carolina) scored 21 points. Vincent Weynandt and Philippe Groos added 11 points each. Domonique Crawford (193-G-84, college: Youngstown St.) played one if his better games notching 30 points and 11 rebounds for soleuvre. Ben Hemmen and David Controguerra each knocked down 16 points to help their cause. Soleuvre out-rebounded Racing 27-24. Racing was a horrible 4 /17 from the free throw line (24%). Soleuvre hosts BBC Nitia and Racing travels next to Bertrange to play Sparta. Both games are on Sunday, the 22nd of November.

Etzella went on an 8-26 run to finish the 1st quarter after a sluggish start. Then Nitia hung in there for most of the rest of the match to keep things respectable. However, Etzella went on an early 4th quarter run to lead by as many as 27 points before going deep to the bench at the finish. However, Etzella went on an early 4th quarter run to lead by as many as 27 points before going deep to the bench at the finish. Billy McDaniel (201-F/C-84, agency: 540 Sports, college: Ark.-Monticello) scored 23 points, took 14 rebounds and blocked 3 shots for Nitia, who dropped their record to 2-6 in the DBBL. No one else could reach double figures in scoring. Etzella had three players step it up scoring wise. Dustin Scott (203-F/C-85, college: Charleston) led with 30 points and 15 rebounds. Nelson Delgado (188-G/F-80) hit 21 and Tim Giver 14. Etzella remains in 1st place with a 7-1 record. They have now won 7 straight since their first loss at home vs. T71 back on October 4th. Nitia has now lost 3 in a row and must face Soleuvre away on Sunday, November 21. Etzella will host Amicale also on Sunday (game of the week) to see who will take over as DBBL leader at the midpoint of qualification play.

In the middle of the 4th, Contern led by as many as 25 points. Ken Diederich (185-G-77) led the winers in scoring with 26 points. Brandon Gary (202-F-83, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college: Hutchinson CC) had a monster of a game with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Gilles Becker had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sparta struggled from beyond the arc against Contern's zone, going only 4 for 25 fro 16%. They also shot poorly from the rest of the field making only 17 of 44 shots inside the three point line for 39%. Larrie Smith (197-F-75, college: Tennessee Tech) scored 18 and Phil Grant (202-G/F-79, agency: R.H.Consultancy, college: Iona) 14 for Sparta who had noone else step it up for double figures. Contern out-rebounded Sparta 40-31. Sparta and Contern are now tied for 4th place with 6-2 records. Sparta will face Racing on Sunday, November 22nd at home in Bertange and Contern will play at T71 in Dudelange on Saturday, November 21st.
