Former international power forward Frank Muller (194-F/C-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked T71, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 36 points and 10 rebounds, while his team outclassed Soleuvre (#7, 5-7) with 39-point margin 103-64. It allowed T71 to consolidate first place in the Diekirch League. T71 has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. In the team's last game Muller had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at T71, through which he has constantly improved. Former Cuesta JC star has very solid stats this year. Muller is in league's top in points (7th best: 22.6ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old Canadian Billy McNutt (203-F-85) of Heffingen. McNutt had a very good evening with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he lead Heffingen to another comfortable win 79-62 over slightly lower-ranked BBC Nitia (#10, 1-11) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Heffingen left the very bottom place moving slightly to 9th position. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Heffingen managed to get this year. McNutt is a newcomer at Heffingen, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.3ppg (#8). He also registered 11.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Croatian forward Ivan Djerman (203-F-83) of Amicale (#4). Djerman showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Amicale, leading his team to a 84-69 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Basket Esch (#6, 6-6). Amicale needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 4 lost games. Djerman has a very solid season. In 12 games in Luxembourg he scored 13.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Stefan Svitek (203-F/C-77) of Basket Esch - 20 points, 19 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Kasey Ulin (184-PG-82) of Sparta - 20 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Guy Schmit (187-G-80) of Musel Pikes - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Philip Perre (198-F-79) of Musel Pikes - 22 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Eric Jeitz (191-G-86) of Amicale - 22 points and 8 assists
9. Dimitri Jorssen (212-C/F-79) of Soleuvre - 19 points and 11 rebounds
10. Corey Raji (198-F-88) of Etzella - 26 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

N2 Round 9 (Second Stage): T.Hesperange tries to escape the last position defeating BBC Nitia - 5 days ago
There will be only one (last) round of the Second Stage in N2. Bottom-ranked T.Hesperange managed to get a fifteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they outleveled ninth-ranked BBC Nitia 95-75. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference proves that T.Hesperange was well-prepared to that game. T.Hesperange maintains sixth place with 15-12 record. BBC Nitia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 21 game...   [read more]
