There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in Diekirch League.

An interesting game for Musel Pikes (22-4) which played road game in Bereldange against 4th placed Residence (12-14). First ranked Musel Pikes had an easy win 80-52. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-52. Musel Pikes dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Residence's 34. They outrebounded Residence 38-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Christine Fisher (183-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. International guard Cathy Schmit (170-90) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Addie Micir (182-88, college: Princeton) answered with 31 points and 7 rebounds for Residence. Defending champion maintains first place in League with 22-4 record. Residence at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 14 games lost. Musel Pikes are looking forward to face T71 Dudelange (#4) at home in the next round. Residence will play against Etzella in Ettelbruck and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Basket Esch (20-6) which hosted in Esch their biggest opponent Etzella (20-6). Third ranked Basket Esch managed to get a 9-point victory 87-78. It was a key game for the second position in League. It was a great evening for Slovakian swingman Agnesa Szaboova (183-75) who led her team to a victory scoring 30 points and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Lamisha Augustine helped adding 20 points and 19 rebounds. At the losing side the former international guard Lisy Hetting (173-90) responded with 24 points and 4 steals. Basket Esch moved-up to second place in League. Basket Esch will play against AB Contern (#6) on the road in the next round. Etzella will play against Residence in Bereldange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Racing (7-17) which played road game in Hesperange against 4th placed Telstar (0-24). Third ranked Racing had an easy win 82-63. It was an exceptional evening for Bridget Yoerger who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Dale-Marie Cumberbatch came up with 29 points and 9 rebounds for Telstar in the defeat. Telstar's coach Paul Medernach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Racing maintains third place in League with 7-17 record having four points less than leader Amicale. Newly promoted Telstar still closes the standings with 24 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
An interesting game for Amicale (11-13) which hosted in Steinsel their biggest opponent Heffingen (9-15). First ranked Amicale had an easy win 84-59. Amicale maintains first place in League with 11-13 record. Heffingen at the other side keeps the second position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In League AB Contern was smashed by T71 Dudelange on the road 86-67.
The most impressive performance of 7th round was 38 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds by Meghan Gardler of Amicale.

An interesting game for Basket Esch (20-6) which hosted in Esch their biggest opponent Etzella (20-6). Third ranked Basket Esch managed to get a 9-point victory 87-78. It was a key game for the second position in League. The hosts were already 15 points ahead at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 21-14 last quarter charge of Etzella cut the lead to 87-78 at the end of the game. T71 Dudelange - AB Contern 86-67

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked T71 Dudelange and 6th ranked AB Contern had identical 12-13 record. This time T71 Dudelange used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Contern 86-67. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when T71 Dudelange's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-14 extending their advantage to 19 points. They made 25-of-29 charity shots (86.2 percent) during the game, while AB Contern only scored seven points from the stripe. T71 Dudelange forced 25 AB Contern turnovers. American guard Cerie Mosgrove (182-88, college: Massachusetts) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Polish-Canadian guard Renata Adamczyk (175) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Stephanie Hinger (167-82) produced 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and center Tessy Margue (181-84) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. An interesting game for Racing (7-17) which played road game in Hesperange against 4th placed Telstar (0-24). Third ranked Racing had an easy win 82-63. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 52-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Telstar outrebounded Racing 39-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Pauline Hublart (177-93) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Canadian forward Dale-Marie Cumberbatch (180-88, agency: LBM Management) came up with 29 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Maggie McKemie (185, college: Boston U.) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Telstar in the defeat. Total League Round 9: Musel Pikes lose to Telstar in the biggest upset of the week - 18 hours ago

Total League is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 9 rounds left. The most shocking disappointment of round 9 in the Total League was a home defeat of 4th placed Musel Pikes (4-3) to eighth ranked Telstar (1-5) 79-65. It ended the two-game winning streak of Musel Pikes. The game was mostly controlled by Telstar. Musel Pikes managed to win fourth quarter 22-17.
