Bulgaria win all the quarters over Luxembourg for a total 94:68 success at the EuroBasket Qualification Round. The team improved to 2-2 record in Group B of the campaign. Luxembourg meanwhile suffered the third straight loss.
Bulgaria won the first period 22-18 and never looked behind after. They added 27-18 in the second frame and enjoyed 49:36 lead at the halftime after Velikovs three-pointer. Filip Videnov (197-SF-80, agency: Alti Sport, college: W.Kentucky) scored for 54:40 and Hristo Nikolov (200-PF-85) brought 58:43 midway through the third quarter. Simmons closed it at 69:48, while Bulgaria added another 25-20 in the last stanza. Birenbaum and Velikov were the last players to score for their teams.
Filip Videnov top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Hristo Nikolov 16 as well as Ivan Lilov (196-SG-88) poured in 16 each. Chavdar Kostov (195-SG-88, agency: Interperformances) nailed 11 points in a winning effort. Tom Schumacher (189-PG-87, college: Cal.Baptist) ended up with 22 points in the losing effort, while Pitt Koster (182-PG-89) chipped in with 11.

N2 Round 6: Last-ranked T.Hesperange beats Black Star - 19 hours ago
Bottom-ranked T.Hesperange managed to get a thirteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Black Star in Mersch 90-79. T.Hesperange (13-11) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Grengewald. Black Star at the other side keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. T.Hesperange is looking forward to face Preizerdaul (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Jones' double-double lands him (Second Stage) Player of the Week award - 5 days ago
33-year old power forward Mike Jones (203-F/C-83) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Heffingen and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7 (Second Stage). He had a double-double of 35 points and 25 rebounds, while his team beat Arantia (#3, 6-19) 92-80. Heffingen maintains the 2nd position in their group in Luxembourg league. N2 is at the halfway of the Second Stage and there are still another 5 rounds left. Grengewald managed to get the fourth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they outleveled tenth-ranked Preizerdaul 88-66. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 22-point difference suggests that Grengewald is in a good shape to leave the bottom place.
