Teams from Luxembourg start preseason campaign to prepare better for the upcoming season. Dutch Matrixx Magixx made a trip to Luxembourg and won three games, against Sparta Bertrange 70-80, Residence Walferdange 76-92 and Etzella Ettelbruck 56-76. EiffelTowers Den Bosch outscored Luxembourg site Amicale Steinsel at home 77-51.
Etzella added another player for the next season. They agreed on terms of contract with Allen Williamson (193-G, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management). The guard will start his pro career in Luxembourg. Allen Williamson has just graduated from the Amherst College. He was NCAA D3 champion in 2013. [read more]

Luxembourg and Scotland played three friendlies in Bertrange. The hosts won the series 2-1.
Luxembourg opened the exhibition series with a 71:65 victory. Tom Schumacher (190-PG-87, college: Cal.Baptist) scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the winners. Luxembourg posted a 40:29 halftime lead. Scotland stopped the rot and cut the deficit at 6-point mark at the final intermission. Scotland struck back in the next game. The visitors rallied to a 79:71 victory in the second game. Scotland strongly started the game. They built a comfortable 47:28 halftime lead. Luxembourg exploded with 29 points in the fourth period but could not avoid the loss at the end. Alasdair Fraser delivered 17 points and 11 boards for Scotland. Gereth Murray chipped in 13 points in the victory. Billy McDaniel (201-F/C-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) answered with 19 points for Luxembourg. Larrie Smith produced 13 points in the defeat. But Luxembourg came up with a completely different performance next day. The hosts went on a massive 53:34 run in the second half to clinch a 92:64 victory. Larrie Smith stepped up with 16 points to pace the home team. Raul Birenbaum (182-SG-89) and Tom Schumacher had 12 points apiece for the winning side. Kieron Achara responded with 17 points and 10 boards for Scotland. Alasdair Fraser and Gareth Murray had 13 points each.
