There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Diekirch League.

The game in Dudelange was quite interesting. Racing (0-2) played at the court of eighth T71 Dudelange (1-1). T71 Dudelange defeated Racing 87-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by T71 Dudelange. Racing managed to win third quarter 24-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. T71 Dudelange forced 21 Racing turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Lydia Bridenbaugh (178-F-89, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Power forward Tonya Young (187-89, college: Vermont) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds. T71 Dudelange's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Celeste Stevenson (180-82, college: W.Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. T71 Dudelange are looking forward to face Basket Esch on the road in the next round. Racing will have a break next round.

German center Nadine Grieb (184-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Bridget Yoerger contributed with 17 points and 6 steals for the winners. Power forward Bracey Ulin (188-85) replied with 15 points for Sparta. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AB Contern will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sparta will play at home against Amicale in Steinsel.

In the last game of round 2 winless Basket Esch lost to undefeated Amicale in Steinsel 54-72.
The best stats of 2nd round was 32 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals by Meghan Gardler of Amicale.


AB Contern - Sparta 77-43

The game with biggest result difference took place in Contern. Local AB Contern (2-0) outscored Sparta (0-2) 77-43. The game without a history. AB Contern led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Sparta's 22. AB Contern forced 26 Sparta turnovers. German center Nadine Grieb (184-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 17 points and 6 steals for the winners. Power forward Bracey Ulin (188-85) replied with 15 points and American swingman Robin Murphy (185, college: S.Mississippi) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sparta. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Amicale - Basket Esch 72-54

There was no surprise in Steinsel where Basket Esch (0-2) was defeated by Amicale (2-0) 72-54. Basket Esch was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Amicale dominated on the defensive end, holding Basket Esch to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Basket Esch 42-26 including 17 on the offensive glass. American power forward Meghan Gardler (180-88, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Czech power forward Petra Manakova (195-82, college: Oakland) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Krystal Vaughn (185-86, college: VCU, agency: LBM Management) replied with 14 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Cerie Mosgrove (182-88, college: Massachusetts) added 19 points in the effort for Basket Esch. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Amicale will play against Sparta in Bertrange in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Basket Esch will play at home against T71 Dudelange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

American Guard Tasha Cannon (168-G-88) had a great game in the last round for Telstar, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9. The 28-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 15 rebounds, while her team beat Musel Pikes (#4, 4-3) 79-65. Telstar maintains the 8th position in Luxembourg Total League. Total League is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 9 rounds left. The most shocking disappointment of round 9 in the Total League was a home defeat of 4th placed Musel Pikes (4-3) to eighth ranked Telstar (1-5) 79-65.
