25-year old Anthony Simpson (203-C/F-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Etzella and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3. He had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Musel Pikes (#6, 1-2) 87-79. It allowed Etzella to take over top position in the Luxembourg league. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Etzella already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. Simpson turned to be Etzella's top player in his first season with the team. Kent State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Simpson. Simpson is in league's top in points (4th best: 23.7ppg) and averages solid 59.0% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Leon Powell (200-F-88, agency: Strategic Sports) of Contern. He is American forward in his first season at Contern. In the last game Powell recorded impressive double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Contern cruised to a 83-75 relatively comfortable win over Residence (1-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Powell is a newcomer at Contern and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.0ppg (#3). He also registered 9.7 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Larrie Smith (198-F-75) of league's second-best Sparta. Smith got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds and four assists. He was a key player of Sparta, leading his team to a 84-66 easy win against #3 ranked Amicale in a game of the week. Sparta started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Smith turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Smith has a great season in Luxembourg. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.7ppg (6th best) and assists with 4.0apg (3rd best).

He played most recently at Arantia in Luxembourg Total League. In 13 games he recorded very impressive stats: 25.2ppg, 10.3rpg, 3.8apg and 3.0spg (leader !!!) last season. Harrison helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. He received All-SSC 1st Team award in 2015 at his college time. Harrison graduated from Lynn University in 2015 and it will be his second season in pro basketball.

Telstar Hesperange (N2) landed American point guard Quincy Smith (183-77kg). He just graduated from Hawaii (NCAA). Smith has played there for the last three years. In 33 games he averaged 7.8ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.4apg and 1.7spg last season. Smith helped them to win Big West Tournament and end the regular season at the top position.
