Former international guard Eric Jeitz (191-G-86) had a great game in the last round for Amicale, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4. The 26-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, six rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Residence (#8, 1-3) 96-88. Amicale maintains the 3rd position in Luxembourg Diekirch League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Amicale will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Jeitz had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Amicale, through which he has constantly improved. Eric Jeitz has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (9th best: 3.3apg) and averages impressive 59.5% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old American Mychal Green (193-G/F-83) of Soleuvre. Green had a very good evening with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he lead Soleuvre to another comfortable win 81-64 over Basket Esch (#9, 0-4) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Soleuvre to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Green is a newcomer at Soleuvre, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.3ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 6.5rpg and 3.5apg.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Billy McDaniel (201-F/C-84) of Black Star (#10). McDaniel scored 28 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite McDaniel's great performance Black Star lost 68-85 to the higher-ranked Musel Pikes (#5, 2-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Black Star can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Too bad for McDaniel he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. McDaniel has individually a great season in Luxembourg. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.5ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 10.0rpg (6th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Kasey Ulin (181-PG-82) of Sparta - 27 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 5. Reggie Golson (201-F-81) of Amicale - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists 6.
