The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Etzella as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Etzella defeated bottom-ranked Basket Esch in Ettelbruck 83-65. The game without a history. Etzella led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Etzella outrebounded Basket Esch 34-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Anthony Simpson (203-87, college: Kent St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. The former international swingman Nelson Delgado (188-80) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Etzella's coach Amadeo Dias used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Martin Rajniak (204-78, college: CSU Bakersfield) produced 20 points and 5 assists for the guests. Undefeated Etzella (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sparta. Basket Esch at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Black Star. Basket Esch will play next round against strong Sparta trying to get back on the winning streak. Etzella will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Black Star in Mersch.
Another exciting game took place in Stadrbredimus where fourth ranked Contern (3-2) edged by two points 5th ranked Musel Pikes (2-3) 56-54. American forward Leon Powell (200-88, college: SE Missouri St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Rene Wolzfeld contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Laurent Schwartz (180-89) answered with 17 points for Musel Pikes. Newly promoted Contern maintains fourth place with 3-2 record. Musel Pikes at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Contern will play against higher ranked Amicale (#3) in Steinsel in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Musel Pikes will play on the road against Soleuvre in Belvaux and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Dudelange between Amicale and T71. Third ranked Amicale (4-1) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked T71 (2-3). Amicale managed to escape with a 3-point win 80-77 on Saturday evening. Reggie Golson stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Ryan Sharry responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Amicale maintains third place with 4-1 record behind leader Etzella. Loser T71 dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Amicale will meet Contern (#4) on the road in the next round. T71 will play against Residence in Bereldange and hope to secure a win.
Bottom-ranked Black Star (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-78 loss to eighth ranked Residence (2-3) in Bereldange. The game was dominated by American players. Marcus Kennedy nailed 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Residence moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Black Star lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Residence's next round opponent will be T71 (#6) in Dudelange. Black Star will play at home against the league's leader Etzella (#1) in Ettelbruck and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 5 Soleuvre lost to undefeated Sparta in Bertrange 81-90.
The best stats of 5th round was 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds by Billy McDaniel of Black Star.

A very close game took place in Dudelange between Amicale and T71. Third ranked Amicale (4-1) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked T71 (2-3). Amicale managed to escape with a 3-point win 80-77 on Saturday evening. T71 was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-16 charge of Amicale, which allowed them to win the game. Amicale shot 22 for 34 from the free-throw line, while T71 only scored four points from the stripe. American forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and international Samy Picard (196-88) chipped in 23 points. American forward Ryan Sharry (203-89, college: Middlebury, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Tom Schumacher (190-87, college: Cal.Baptist) scored 11 points. Sparta - Soleuvre 90-81

There was no surprise in Bertrange where 6th ranked Soleuvre (2-3) was defeated by leader Sparta (5-0) 90-81. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Soleuvre won third quarter 27-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sparta players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Soleuvre helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Kasey Ulin (181-82, college: Dickinson St.) nailed 19 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) accounted for 20 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Torye Pelham (198-87, college: S.Mississippi) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import swingman Mychal Green (193-83, college: Ohio) added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Soleuvre in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sparta. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Etzella. Soleuvre at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Sparta's next round opponent will be Basket Esch (#9) on the road and are hoping to win another game. He has played for the last two seasons at Dresden Titans in German ProA. In 26 games he had 10.3ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.4apg last season. Amicale - Musel Pikes 88:68 Amicale conquered the first trophy of the new season. They topped Musel Pikes to earn the SuperCup trophy. Musel Pikes jumped to a 25:19 lead after ten minutes. But Amicale used a 25:12 run in the second term to take a 7-point halftime lead. They went on a 21:7 run in the fourth period to seal a comfortable victory.
