McDaniel
28-year old power forward Billy McDaniel (201-F/C-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for Black Star and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had a double-double of 48 points and 19 rebounds, while his team lost overtime game against the league's best team Etzella (#1, 6-0) 103-108. Black Star maintains the 10th position in Luxembourg league. They are still not able to win a single game in the league yet. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 6 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game McDaniel had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Black Star, through which he has constantly improved. Arkansas-Monticello graduate has very impressive stats this year. McDaniel is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.2ppg. McDaniel is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 1.7bpg,54.2% FGP and 60.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Marcus Kennedy (193-F-84, agency: Interperformances) of Residence. He is American forward in his 4th season at Residence. In the last game Kennedy recorded impressive double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Residence cruised to a 95-83 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked T71 (#8, 2-4). This victory allowed Residence to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Kennedy is one of the most experienced players at Residence and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.2ppg (#2). He also registered 8.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Anthony Simpson (203-C/F-87) of league's leader Etzella. Simpson showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, nineteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Etzella, leading his team to a 108-103overtime win against Black Star (#10, 0-6). Etzella started extremely well this year. They recorded 6 victories without losing a single game. Simpson turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Simpson has a great season in Luxembourg. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.0ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 15.3rpg (#1 in league). He also has 2.5spg and FGP: 58.0%.

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
