28-year old power forward Billy McDaniel (201-F/C-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for Black Star and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 6. He had a double-double of 48 points and 19 rebounds, while his team lost overtime game against the league's best team Etzella (#1, 6-0) 103-108. Black Star maintains the 10th position in Luxembourg league. They are still not able to win a single game in the league yet. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 6 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game McDaniel had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Black Star, through which he has constantly improved. Arkansas-Monticello graduate has very impressive stats this year. McDaniel is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.2ppg. McDaniel is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 1.7bpg,54.2% FGP and 60.0% from behind 3-point line.
Second best performed player last round was Marcus Kennedy (193-F-84, agency: Interperformances) of Residence. He is American forward in his 4th season at Residence. In the last game Kennedy recorded impressive double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Residence cruised to a 95-83 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked T71 (#8, 2-4). This victory allowed Residence to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Kennedy is one of the most experienced players at Residence and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.2ppg (#2). He also registered 8.0 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to Anthony Simpson (203-C/F-87) of league's leader Etzella. Simpson showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, nineteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Etzella, leading his team to a 108-103overtime win against Black Star (#10, 0-6). Etzella started extremely well this year. They recorded 6 victories without losing a single game. Simpson turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Simpson has a great season in Luxembourg. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.0ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 15.3rpg (#1 in league). He also has 2.5spg and FGP: 58.0%.

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. Ciclista Juninense (TNA) strengthened their roster with addition of 23-year old American guard Aaron Harrison (198-95kg-93, college: Lynn). He played most recently at Arantia in Luxembourg Total League. In 13 games he recorded very impressive stats: 25.2ppg, 10.3rpg, 3.8apg and 3.0spg (leader !!!) last season. Harrison helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. He received All-SSC 1st Team award in 2015 at his college time. Harrison graduated from Lynn University in 2015 and it will be his second season in pro basketball.

Telstar Hesperange (N2) landed American point guard Quincy Smith (183-77kg). He just graduated from Hawaii (NCAA). Smith has played there for the last three years. In 33 games he averaged 7.8ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.4apg and 1.7spg last season. Smith helped them to win Big West Tournament and end the regular season at the top position.
