31-year old forward Reggie Golson (201-F-81, agency: Court Side) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Amicale and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9. He had a double-double of 31 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Etzella (#3, 6-3) 78-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Amicale maintains the 2nd position in Luxembourg league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Amicale will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. In the team's last game Golson had a remarkable 65.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Amicale's top player in his first season with the team. Southeast Missouri State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Golson is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.8rpg), assists (8th best: 3.7apg) and averages solid 58.3% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Torye Pelham (198-F-87) of Soleuvre. He is American forward in his first season at Soleuvre. In the last game Pelham recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Soleuvre cruised to a 91-79 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Contern (#4, 4-5). Soleuvre's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Pelham is a newcomer at Soleuvre and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to Anthony Simpson (203-C/F-87) of Etzella (#3). Simpson scored 21 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Simpson's great performance Etzella lost 69-78 to #2 ranked Amicale. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Etzella needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Simpson has a great season in Luxembourg. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.9ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 15.4rpg (#1 in league).
