The game between second ranked Amicale (9-4) and seventh ranked Residence (6-7) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Amicale was defeated by Residence in Bereldange 85-74. It was a great shooting night for Residence especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. American power forward Dustin Scott (203-F/C-85, college: Charleston) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Marcus Kennedy (193-84, college: Montevallo, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 25 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Residence moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Amicale at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Residence is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Black Star (#10) in Mersch in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Amicale will play at home against T71 (#7) in Dudelange and is hoping to win this game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Ettelbruck. Second ranked host Etzella (10-3) defeated 4th placed Contern (6-7) 84-73. Etzella have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Sparta. Newly promoted Contern keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Etzella will play against Basket Esch (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Contern will play against Musel Pikes (#5) in Stadrbredimus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Musel Pikes' next round opponent will be Contern (#4) in Luxembourg. Black Star will play at home against Residence (#6) in Bereldange.

In the last game of round 13 Soleuvre lost to Basket Esch on the opponent's court 69-73.


Etzella - Contern 84-73

The game between Top Four teams took place in Ettelbruck. Second ranked host Etzella (10-3) defeated 4th placed Contern (6-7) 84-73. Etzella have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Sparta. Newly promoted Contern keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Etzella will play against Basket Esch (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Contern will play against Musel Pikes (#5) in Stadrbredimus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Black Star - Musel Pikes 63-92

10th ranked Black Star (1-12) was outscored at home by sixth ranked Musel Pikes (6-7) with the biggest margin this round 92-63. The game without a history. Musel Pikes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Black Star to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Musel Pikes dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Black Star's 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Trenton Wurtz (203-83, college: Indiana St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Musel Pikes players scored in double figures. Musel Pikes' coach Frank Baum felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Terry Bryant (185-85, college: SE Louisiana) answered with 22 points and 5 assists and power forward Billy McDaniel (201-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Black Star. Musel Pikes moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Black Star lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Musel Pikes' next round opponent will be Contern (#4) in Luxembourg. Black Star will play at home against Residence (#6) in Bereldange.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Soleuvre (5-8) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Basket Esch (4-9) 73-69. Soleuvre was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 32-25 second half run of Basket Esch. They shot 64.1 percent from the field. Basket Esch had a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for the former international Christophe Donnersbach (192-84) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. International Martin Rajniak (204-78, college: CSU Bakersfield) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. American swingman Mychal Green (193-83, college: Ohio) answered with 29 points and the other American import forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Soleuvre.
