American forward Reggie Golson (201-F-81, agency: Court Side) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Amicale, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14. The 31-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat T71 (#7, 6-8) 101-89. Amicale is placed at 2nd position in Luxembourg Diekirch League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Amicale will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. Golson turned to be Amicale's top player in his first season with the team. Former Southeast Missouri State University star has very solid stats this year. Golson is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 9.3rpg), assists (8th best: 3.7apg) and averages impressive 53.2% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 34-year old international power forward Martin Rajniak (204-PF-78) of Basket Esch. Rajniak had a very good evening with 34 points and 6 rebounds. Of course Basket Esch cruised to a 85-77 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Etzella (#3, 10-4). Basket Esch's 9th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-9 record. Rajniak is one of the most experienced players at Basket Esch and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Terry Bryant (185-PG-85) of Black Star (#10). Bryant showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, six rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Bryant's great performance Black Star lost 78-82 to the higher-ranked Residence (#5, 7-7). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Black Star can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-13 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Bryant he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Bryant has individually a great season in Luxembourg. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.3ppg (4th best) and assists with 4.5apg (2nd best). He also has 2.1spg and FGP: 56.0%.
