Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

Leader Sparta delivered the fourteenth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 9th ranked Basket Esch (5-10) 102-86 in Bertrange. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Basket Esch. The game was mostly controlled by Sparta. Basket Esch managed to win fourth quarter 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Sparta outrebounded Basket Esch 38-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 7 assists. American point guard Kasey Ulin (181-82, college: Dickinson St.) chipped in 20 points and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds. Sparta (14-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Basket Esch at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Soleuvre. Sparta are looking forward to face Etzella (#3) in Ettelbruck in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Basket Esch will play on the road against Residence (#6) in Bereldange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Dudelange supposed to be also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Residence (7-8) played at the court of sixth ranked T71 (7-8). T71 smashed Residence 88-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Residence. T71 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Residence. T71 will play against Soleuvre (#8) in Belvaux in the next round. Residence will play at home against Basket Esch and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Ettelbruck. Local Etzella (11-4) outscored 10th ranked Black Star (1-14) 89-63 on Saturday night. Etzella moved-up to second place, which they share with Amicale. Black Star lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Etzella will meet at home league's leader Sparta in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Black Star will play against Contern (#7) in Luxembourg.

In the last two games of round 15 Contern was defeated by Amicale in Steinsel 86-74. Musel Pikes beat Soleuvre at home 70-59.



Etzella - Black Star 89-63

The game with biggest result difference took place in Ettelbruck. Local Etzella (11-4) outscored 10th ranked Black Star (1-14) 89-63 on Saturday night. Etzella moved-up to second place, which they share with Amicale. Black Star lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Etzella will meet at home league's leader Sparta in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Black Star will play against Contern (#7) in Luxembourg.

Amicale - Contern 86-74

There was no surprise in Steinsel where 6th ranked Contern (6-9) was defeated by second ranked Amicale (11-4) 86-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Amicale led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Eric Jeitz (191-86) helped adding 22 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Elton Frazier (196-88, college: Canisius) with 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Leon Powell (200-88, college: SE Missouri St.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Amicale maintains second place with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Sparta, which they share with Etzella. Contern lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Amicale will meet Musel Pikes (#4) in the next round. Contern will play against Black Star in Mersch and hope to secure a win.

Musel Pikes - Soleuvre 70-59

No shocking result in a game in Stadrbredimus where fourth ranked Musel Pikes (8-7) defeated 8th ranked Soleuvre (5-10) 70-59 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 36-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Musel Pikes shot 17 for 23 from the free-throw line, while Soleuvre only scored 0 point from the stripe. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Trenton Wurtz (203-83, college: Indiana St.) helped adding 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Musel Pikes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Mychal Green (193-83, college: Ohio) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Musel Pikes. They maintain fourth place with 8-7 record. Soleuvre lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Basket Esch. Musel Pikes will meet at home league's second-placed Amicale in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Soleuvre will play against T71 (#5) in Dudelange and hope to secure a win.
