American Mychal Green (193-G/F-83) had an amazing evening in the last round for Soleuvre and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16. The 29-year old swingman had a double-double of 30 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat T71 (#7, 7-9) 103-91. Soleuvre maintains the 8th position in Luxembourg Diekirch League. Soleuvre is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-10 record. In the team's last game Green had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be Soleuvre's top player in his first season with the team. Ohio University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Green is in league's top in points (5th best: 23.9ppg), assists (4th best: 4.0apg) and averages solid 59.3% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American forward Ryan Sharry (203-F-89, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) of T71. Sharry impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as T71 lost that game 91-103 to slightly lower-ranked Soleuvre (#8, 6-10). This loss caused T71 to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-9 record. Sharry is a newcomer at T71 and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was another Soleuvre's star - American Chehales Tapscott (195-F-90). Tapscott showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and six assists in the last round. He was another key player of Soleuvre, helping his team with a 103-91 win against slightly higher-ranked T71 (#7, 7-9). The chances of Soleuvre not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Tapscott could try to bring Soleuvre's a little bit higher in the standings. Tapscott has a very solid season. In 6 games in Luxembourg he scored 22.2ppg. He also has 9.3rpg, 1.7bpg and FGP: 59.3%.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Elton Frazier (196-F-88) of Contern - 27 points and 24 rebounds 5. Billy McDaniel (201-F/C-84) of Black Star - 23 points and 14 rebounds 6. Trenton Wurtz (203-F-83) of Musel Pikes - 17 points and 16 rebounds 7. Leon Powell (200-F-88) of Contern - 18 points and 17 rebounds 8. Brandon Gary (202-F/C-83) of Musel Pikes - 20 points and 14 rebounds 9. Tom Schumacher (190-PG-87) of T71 - 33 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists 10. Kasey Ulin (181-PG-82) of Sparta - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues.
