An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Stadrbredimus. First ranked Musel Pikes faced 4th ranked Amicale. Host Musel Pikes (11-1) defeated guests from Steinsel (7-6) 77-66. Musel Pikes forced 26 Amicale turnovers. American power forward Amanda Stowe (186-79, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) fired 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International Magaly Meynadier (17-91) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Meghan Gardler (180-88, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Amicale's coach Marc Marchetti rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Musel Pikes have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Amicale at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Musel Pikes are looking forward to face Basket Esch (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Amicale will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Racing (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 74-46 loss to third ranked AB Contern (9-4) in Contern. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 9 steals. Nadine Grieb contributed with 16 points and 5 steals for the winners. AB Contern's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Kayla Tetschlag (182-89, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds for Racing. AB Contern maintains third position with 9-4 record having just one points less than leader Musel Pikes. Racing at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. AB Contern will play against T71 Dudelange (#5) on the road in the next round. Racing will play against Sparta in Bertrange and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 16 Sparta was defeated by Etzella in Ettelbruck 78-71.

Etzella - Sparta 78-71

There was no surprise in Ettelbruck where 6th ranked Sparta (4-9) was defeated by second ranked Etzella (11-2) 78-71. Etzella forced 21 Sparta turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Katie Donovan (178-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Jessilyn Conicelli (177-89, college: Biola, CA) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Etzella players scored in double figures. American power forward Latoya Drake (188-86, college: Miami, FL) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Esmeralda Skrijelj (180-95) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sparta. Sparta's coach Jacques Sitz tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Etzella have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Musel Pikes. Newly promoted Sparta keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Etzella will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sparta will play on the road against Racing (#8) in Luxembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Iceland - Luxembourg 59-44 Iceland beat Luxembourg to finish second in San Marino at the 2017 Games of the Small States of Europe. Iceland posted 59-44 for silver, while Luxembourg took bronze.
