Musel Pikes celebrated the LaLux Ladies Cup title. They held off T71 Dudelange in the Final tonight. Christine Fisher (183-F/C-83) came up with 22 points and 13 boards for the winners.
Musel Pikes led by just two points after the opening quarter 14:12. The margin grew deeper in the second frame. Musel Pikes went on a 21:11 run to take a 35:23 halftime advantage. T71 Dudelange stopped the rot in the third term. They were able to narrow the gap. Dudelange trailed by 8 points before the final frame. But Musel Pikes exploded with 25 points in the fourth term and raced to the win at the end. Carine Cigrang (175-PF-85) chipped in 15 points, while Amanda Stowe (186-F/C-79, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) provided 13 points and 6 boards for the winning team. Iasia Hemingway (180-F-89, agency: Merit Sports, college: Syracuse) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds for T71. Larrie Williams (187-C-90, agency: LBM Management, college: La-Monroe) posted 17 points in defeat.

We bring you last week's top performances from Luxembourgers who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is former U18 international forward Caroline Braquet (181-92). She could not help IF Air Europa (6-17) in their last game. Despite Braquet's very good performance the 12th-placed IF Air Europa (6-17) was crushed 89-66 on the road by the higher-ranked (#8) Antiguo Boscos in the Group B.    [read more]

American Forward Akilah Bethel (183-F-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Musel Pikes, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 6 (Second Stage). The 23-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 15 rebounds, while her team crushed Basket Esch (14-6) with 21-point margin 89-68. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. The game between Top Four teams took place in Steinsel. First ranked host Amicale (18-2) smashed 4th ranked AB Contern (11-9) 72-39. The game without a history. Amicale led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding AB Contern to just 7 points in fourth quarter.
