Avanti Mondorf (N2) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old American swingman DeAndre Washington (196-98kg-89, college: Washburn). He played in the summer at Atlanta Blaze (WBA) in the U.S.. Among other achievements Washington played in the final of MIAA Tournament in 2010. He received also NABC Division II All-South Central Region 2nd Team award in 2011 at his college time. Washington graduated from Washburn University in 2011 and it is his second season in pro basketball. The scouts decsribe him following way:

Luxembourg and Scotland played three friendlies in Bertrange. The hosts won the series 2-1.
Luxembourg opened the exhibition series with a 71:65 victory. Tom Schumacher (190-PG-87, college: Cal.Baptist) scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the winners. Luxembourg exploded with 29 points in the fourth period but could not avoid the loss at the end. Alasdair Fraser delivered 17 points and 11 boards for Scotland. Gereth Murray chipped in 13 points in the victory. Billy McDaniel (201-F/C-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) answered with 19 points for Luxembourg. Larrie Smith produced 13 points in the defeat. But Luxembourg came up with a completely different performance next day. The hosts went on a massive 53:34 run in the second half to clinch a 92:64 victory. Larrie Smith stepped up with 16 points to pace the home team. Raul Birenbaum (182-SG-89) and Tom Schumacher had 12 points apiece for the winning side. Kieron Achara responded with 17 points and 10 boards for Scotland. Alasdair Fraser and Gareth Murray had 13 points each.
Contern bolstered their roster. They signed Chad Gray (200-F-85, college: Co.Carolina). The forward spent the last season in Germany. He played for Giants Noerdlingen. Chad Gray notched 17.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game in ProB. Gray earned All-German 2.Bundesliga ProB Honourable Mention. AS Soleuvre (Total League) added to their roster 27-year old forward Eric Bissener (196-86). He started the season at Etzella (Total League). But in 20 games he recorded just 1.7ppg and 4.0rpg this season. The last season Bissener played also at Etzella. In 27 Total League games he averaged 3.5ppg and 4.3rpg. He helped them to make it to the Luxembourg Cup Semifinals. The list of the past achievements is quite long as Bissener won Luxembourg League championship title in 2009. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Luxembourg League Most Improved Player of the Year back in 2009. Bissener has played previously for another Luxembourg team Contern.
