Best players of Luxembourg Diekirch League round 1 (Second Stage) - Feb 7, 2013

Bracey Ulin
Bracey Ulin (188-F/C-85) had an amazing evening in the last round for Sparta and that's her to receive a Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 27-year old power forward had a double-double of 43 points and twelve rebounds, while her team crushed Amicale (#4, 7-8) with 21-point margin 93-72. Thanks to this victory Sparta moved-up to the 6th position in the Luxembourg Diekirch League. Sparta is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 9th lost game this season out of 15 games. In the team's last game Ulin had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. She turned to be Sparta's top player in her first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American swingman Kayla Tetschlag (182-G/F-89) of Racing. Tetschlag impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds. Of course she lead Racing to another comfortable win outscoring Black Star (0-1) 96-38. Her team has extremely good start of the Second Stage. They won their first game. However the Second Stage is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Tetschlag is a newcomer at Racing and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.2ppg (#2). She also registered 14.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Racing's star - American Celeste Stevenson (180-F/C-82). Stevenson showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, twenty rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. She was another key player of Racing, helping her team with a 96-38 easy win against #-3 ranked Black Star in a game of the week. Racing has a very good start of the Second Stage. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Stevenson also has a very good start of the Second Stage with very strong stats. Stevenson has a great season in Luxembourg. After 14 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 10.6rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Krystal Vaughn (185-G-86) of Basket Esch - 29 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Amanda Stowe (186-F/C-79) of Musel Pikes - 22 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists
6. Nadine Grieb (184-C-87) of AB Contern - 22 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Ildiko Vass (178-G-78) of Telstar - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Christine Fisher (183-F/C-83) of Musel Pikes - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Jessilyn Conicelli (177-F-89) of Etzella - 18 points and 15 rebounds
10. Iasia Hemingway (180-F-89) of T71 Dudelange - 25 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
