There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in Diekirch League.

An interesting game for AB Contern (11-5) which hosted in Contern one of their biggest challengers Amicale (7-9). Third ranked AB Contern managed to get a 10-point victory 69-59. The game was mostly controlled by AB Contern. Amicale managed to win third quarter 16-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AB Contern forced 26 Amicale turnovers. American power forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. German center Nadine Grieb (184-87) contributed with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Serbian forward Milica Beljanski (185-83, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for Amicale. AB Contern maintains third position with 11-5 record having just -25 point less than leader Musel Pikes. Amicale lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with nine games lost. AB Contern are looking forward to face league's leader Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Amicale will play on the road against the league's second-placed Etzella in Ettelbruck and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Bertrange supposed to be also worth to mention about. First ranked Musel Pikes (15-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Sparta (6-10). Musel Pikes smashed Sparta 81-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sparta. Defending champion maintains first position with 15-1 record. Newly promoted Sparta dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with T71 Dudelange. Musel Pikes will play against AB Contern (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sparta will play against T71 Dudelange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between second ranked Etzella (14-2) and 5th ranked T71 Dudelange (6-10) in Ettelbruck on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Etzella outscored guests from Dudelange 102-76. Jessilyn Conicelli notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 19 rebounds to lead the effort. Etzella's coach Roumen Galabov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points and 8 rebounds by Iasia Hemingway did not help to save the game for T71 Dudelange. Etzella have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-2 record having just -28 point less than leader Musel Pikes. T71 Dudelange lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Sparta. Etzella will meet at home Amicale (#4) in the next round. T71 Dudelange will play against Sparta in Bertrange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 32 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals by Meghan Gardler of Amicale.

The game without a history. Etzella led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Etzella forced 22 T71 Dudelange turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American forward Jessilyn Conicelli (177-89, college: Biola, CA) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 19 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian guard Katie Donovan (178-82) supported her with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Etzella players scored in double figures. Etzella's coach Roumen Galabov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Iasia Hemingway (180-89, college: Syracuse, agency: Merit Sports) did not help to save the game for T71 Dudelange. Her fellow American import center Larrie Williams (187-90, college: La-Monroe, agency: LBM Management) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the guests.
