American forward Trenton Wurtz (203-F-83) had a great game in the last round for Musel Pikes, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage). The 29-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 17 rebounds, while his team Musel Pikes moved-up to the 5th position in the Luxembourg Diekirch League. Musel Pikes is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 10th lost game this season out of 22 games. In the team's last game Wurtz had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Musel Pikes' top player in his first season with the team. Former Indiana State University star has very solid stats this year. Wurtz is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 10.3rpg) and averages impressive 55.3% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 22-year old American Chehales Tapscott (195-F-90) of Soleuvre. Tapscott had a very good evening with 35 points and 7 rebounds. Bad luck as Soleuvre lost that game 76-94 to Basket Esch (8-12). Despite lost game Soleuvre moved up to -5th position in Places 7-10. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-12 record. Tapscott is a newcomer at Soleuvre, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Marcus Kennedy (193-F-84, agency: Interperformances) of Residence (#6). Kennedy scored 27 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Kennedy's great performance Residence lost 78-94 to slightly higher-ranked T71 (#4, 12-10). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Residence needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Places 1-6. Their record is 11 victories and 10 lost games. Kennedy has a great season in Luxembourg. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.0ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.9rpg (8th best). He also has 2.3spg and FGP: 52.1%.
