The most important game in the last round took place in Esch between third ranked Contern (7-3) and fifth ranked Basket Esch (6-4) on Saturday night. Contern was crushed by Basket Esch on the road 76-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Contern. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 43-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Basket Esch dominated on the defensive end, holding Contern to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Contern 43-22 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Jermont Horton (198-84, college: Rutgers-Newark) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Alexandre Rodenbourg (202-91) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Manny Atkins (198-91, college: Georgia St.) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Basket Esch have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 6-4 record. Contern at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Etzella. Basket Esch are looking forward to face Sparta (#6) in Bertrange in the next round. Contern will play at home against Bascharage and is hoping to win this game.
Total League top team - Musel Pikes (8-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked Residence (3-7) in Bereldange 74-68. American swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) notched 26 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Clancy Rugg supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds by American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Residence. Musel Pikes have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record, which they share with Amicale. Residence at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. Musel Pikes will play against T71 (#7) in Dudelange in the next round where they are favorite. Residence will play on the road against Etzella in Ettelbruck and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Bascharage (0-10) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Etzella (7-3) 115-87 on Saturday evening. Derrick Barden fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Etzella's coach Jan Enjebo felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ishmael Hollis produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Etzella moved-up to third place, which they share with Contern. Loser Bascharage still closes the standings with ten games lost. Etzella will meet at home Residence (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Bascharage will play against Contern in Luxembourg and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Dudelange was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Amicale (8-2) played at the court of 6th ranked T71 (5-5). Amicale defeated T71 71-56. Worth to mention a great performance of Bob Melcher who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Musel Pikes. T71 at the other side keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Amicale's next round opponent will be Arantia (#9) in Larochette and are hoping to win another game. T71 will play on the road against the league's leader Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus and hope to win that game.

Titus Robinson scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sparta moved-up to sixth place, which they share with T71. Arantia lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Sparta will face higher ranked Basket Esch (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Arantia will play against the league's second-placed Amicale (#2) in Steinsel and hope to win that game.

Bascharage - Etzella 87-115

Bottom-ranked Bascharage (0-10) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Etzella (7-3) 115-87 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 115-87. Etzella outrebounded Bascharage 37-19 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Bascharage's players. American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Jairo Delgado (188-85) chipped in 24 points. Four Etzella players scored in double figures. Etzella's coach Jan Enjebo felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Arantia was better in fourth quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game.
