The most exciting game of round 14 in the Total League took place in Luxembourg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Contern (9-5) to first ranked Musel Pikes (12-2) 70-67 on Saturday evening. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Musel Pikes dominated on the defensive end, holding Contern to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St.) who scored 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Power forward Clancy Rugg (203-91, college: Vermont, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 17 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Jesse Morgan (196-91, college: Temple) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. Musel Pikes have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record, which they share with Amicale. Contern at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Etzella. Musel Pikes is looking forward to face Etzella (#4) in Ettelbruck in the next round. Contern will play on the road against Sparta in Bertrange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ettelbruck. Second ranked Amicale faced 4th ranked Etzella. Guests from Steinsel (12-2) defeated host Etzella (9-5) 96-85. The former international power forward Billy McDaniel (199-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Shavon Coleman contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds for Etzella. Amicale have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Musel Pikes. Etzella at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Contern. Amicale will play against Residence (#8) in Bereldange in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Etzella will play on the road against the league's leader Musel Pikes (#1) in Stadrbredimus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Bascharage (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-67 loss to eighth ranked Residence (5-9) in Kaerjeng on Saturday evening. The game was also dominated by American players. Everage Richardson scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Phillip Leonard responded with 21 points and 5 assists. Residence maintains eighth position with 5-9 record. Loser Bascharage still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Residence will meet at home league's second-placed Amicale in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bascharage will play against Basket Esch (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Dudelange was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Sparta (8-6) played at the court of seventh ranked T71 (7-7). T71 defeated Sparta 79-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sparta. Tom Schumacher notched 23 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort. T71 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Basket Esch. Sparta at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. T71's next round opponent will be Arantia (#9) in Larochette. Sparta will play at home against Contern (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Basket Esch will face bottom-ranked Bascharage (#10) in Kaerjeng in the next round. Arantia will play at home against T71 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Bascharage - Residence 67-81

Bottom-ranked Bascharage (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-67 loss to eighth ranked Residence (5-9) in Kaerjeng on Saturday evening. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Jesse Reed (196, college: American) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Guard Phillip Leonard (188-93, college: Mercer) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and forward Dominique Reed (198, college: Mount Olive) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Five Bascharage players scored in double figures. Residence maintains eighth position with 5-9 record. Loser Bascharage still closes the standings with 14 games lost.
