Scott Morton
American Swingman Scott Morton (195-G/F-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Racing, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 36 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Bascharage (#4, 1-20) 74-63. It allowed Racing to consolidate first place in the Luxembourg Total League. Racing has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 20-1. In the team's last game Morton had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Racing, through which he has constantly improved. Former SUNY Geneseo star has very solid stats this year. Morton is in league's top in points (4th best: 27.3ppg), assists (2nd best: 5.7apg) and averages impressive 55.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American Brad Reese (200-F-88) of Sparta. Reese had a very good evening with 36 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Sparta to another comfortable win 102-89 over T71 (12-9) being unquestionably team leader. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Reese is a newcomer at Sparta, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.6ppg (#6). He also registered 7.1 boards per game. Former Texas Tech University star Reese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Ladarius Tabb (196-G/F) of Arantia (#3). Tabb got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for nineteen rebounds . He was a key player of Arantia, leading his team to a 88-83 win against #3 ranked Kordall Steelers in a game of the week. Arantia can only dream about fighting for top spots in Playdowns. They have rather bad season and 5-16 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Tabb he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Tabb has individually a great season in Luxembourg. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 29.5ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 16.0rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Bill Clark (196-F-88) of Basket Esch - 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Marlin Mason (201-F-93) of Kordall Steelers - 32 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Ryan Nicholas (201-F-91) of Residence - 40 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Billy McNutt (203-C/F-85) of Etzella - 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Elijah Bonsignore (198-G/F) of BC Mess - 34 points and 10 rebounds
9. Everage Richardson (191-G-85) of Residence - 34 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Christopher Jones (186-G-90) of T71 - 30 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
