The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Racing (20-2) in Luxembourg on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Basket Esch (11-11) 72-57. It was a key game for the top position in League. 25 personal fouls committed by Racing helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Alexandre Rodenbourg (202-91) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Mark Ogden (206-94, college: Dixie St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the hosts. Basket Esch maintains first place in League with 11-11 record which they share with defeated Racing. Newly promoted Racing still keeps top position with two games lost. Basket Esch are looking forward to face BC Mess (#4) in Mondercange in the next round. Racing will play on the road against Arantia in Larochette and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Third-ranked Contern (13-10) made lots of trouble for second ranked Musel Pikes (18-5) in Stadrbredimus. Musel Pikes managed to secure only one-point victory 98-97. However their fans expected easier game. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St.) saved the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Clancy Rugg contributed with 20 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guard Jesse Morgan (196-91, college: Temple) answered with 41 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for Contern. Musel Pikes maintains second place in League with 18-5 record having just three points less than leader Amicale. Contern at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Heffingen. Third ranked Kordall Steelers faced second-ranked Heffingen. Guests from Rodange (14-8) defeated host Heffingen (16-6) 91-85. Antonio Bivins nailed a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 9 steals for the winning side. Newly promoted Kordall Steelers maintains third place in League with 14-8 record having eight points less than leader Amicale. Heffingen at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second position with six games lost. Kordall Steelers' next round opponent will be Bascharage (#4) in Kaerjeng. Heffingen will play on the road against the league's second-placed Residence in Bereldange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bereldange. Second ranked Residence faced 4th placed Bascharage. Host Residence (10-12) smashed guests from Kaerjeng (1-20) 88-61. The best player for the winners was Kevin Moura who scored 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Residence's coach Rainer Kloss felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Residence maintains second place in League with 10-12 record having twelve points less than leader Amicale. Loser Bascharage keeps the fourth position with 20 games lost. Residence will face league's second-placed Heffingen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bascharage will play against Kordall Steelers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 5 In League Sparta was defeated by Etzella in Ettelbruck 93-88. Arantia beat BC Mess at home 94-85.

T71 - Amicale 81-92

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Dudelange. First ranked Amicale faced 4th placed T71. Guests from Steinsel (21-2) defeated host T71 (13-10) 92-81. International guard Bob Melcher (189-94) stepped up and scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Billy McDaniel (199-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds. Four Amicale players scored in double figures. American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Defending champion maintains first place in League with 21-2 record. Loser T71 dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Sparta's (10-13) road loss to fifth ranked Etzella (13-10) 88-93 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Heffingen won fourth quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BBC US Hiefenech Heffingen (N2) inked 23-year old American forward Ryan Logan (201-100kg-94). Logan just graduated from Stonehill (NCAA2). He has played there for the last four years. In 24 games he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 6.8rpg, 3.6apg and 1.0spg last season. As mentioned above Logan is just out of the college and it will be his first season in pro basketball.
