Total League round 7 most important game was a victory of Etzella over 5th ranked T71 91-66 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Philippe Gutenkauf (181-95) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Etzella's coach Jan Enjebo felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for T71. Etzella (14-10) moved-up to third place in League. T71 at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Etzella will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. T71 will play on the road against Contern (#4) in Luxembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Second-ranked Residence (11-13) was very close to win a game against first ranked Racing (22-2) in Luxembourg. Racing managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected easier game. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Mark Ogden (206-94, college: Dixie St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. Scott Morton helped adding 18 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Racing's coach Pit Rodenbourg allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) responded with 24 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Newly promoted Racing maintains first place in League with 22-2 record. Residence at the other side keeps the second position with 13 games lost. Racing will play against league's second-placed Heffingen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Residence will have a break next round.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Musel Pikes (18-6) against sixth ranked Sparta (11-13) on Saturday night. Host Musel Pikes was defeated by Sparta in a tough game in Stadrbredimus 86-92. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for Brad Reese who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Jarmar Gulley came up with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for Musel Pikes in the defeat. Sparta maintains sixth place in League with 11-13 record. Loser Musel Pikes keeps the second position with six games lost. Sparta will meet at home league's leader Amicale in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Musel Pikes will play against Contern in Luxembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

An interesting game for Bascharage (2-21) which played road game in Mondercange against 4th placed BC Mess (12-12). Fourth ranked Bascharage had an easy win 83-61. It was a very good performance for Phillip Leonard who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds. BC Mess' coach Nigel Tolentino gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Bascharage maintains fourth place in League with 2-21 record which they share with defeated BC Mess. Newly promoted BC Mess keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. Bascharage will face league's leader Basket Esch at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Mess will play against Kordall Steelers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In League Arantia was beaten by Heffingen on the road 92-80. Kordall Steelers lost to Basket Esch on its own court 97-102.
The most impressive performance of 7th round was 35 points (!!!), 25 rebounds and 6 assists by Mike Jones of Heffingen.

An interesting game for Amicale (22-2) which hosted in Steinsel 3rd placed Contern (13-11). First ranked Amicale had an easy win 95-74. It was a great shooting night for Amicale especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward Shavon Coleman (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Court Side) fired a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international power forward Billy McDaniel (199-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) chipped in 27 points and 8 rebounds. Coach Ken Diederich's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Jesse Morgan (196-91, college: Temple) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Manny Atkins (198-91, college: Georgia St.) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Defending champion maintains first place in League with 22-2 record. Contern at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. St. John's Edge (NBL Canada) tabbed 23-year old American forward Gavin Thurman (203-101kg-94, college: Newman). He played most recently at Black Star in Luxembourg N2 league. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games. Round 5 in Total League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Dudelange where host T71 (3-2) beat league's leader Amicale (3-2) 80-75 on Saturday evening.
