Fourth-ranked Bascharage (2-22) gave a tough game to first ranked Basket Esch (14-11) in Kaerjeng on Saturday. The visitors from Esch managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Pit Biever (185-91) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne) who added 15 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. American guard Phillip Leonard (188-93, college: Mercer) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Basket Esch maintains first position in League with 14-11 record. Bascharage at the other side keeps the fourth place with 22 games lost. Basket Esch are looking forward to face league's second-placed Residence in Bereldange in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bascharage will play on the road against Arantia in Larochette and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Racing will face Kordall Steelers (#3) in Rodange in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Heffingen will play at home against BC Mess and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Ettelbruck. Third ranked host Etzella (15-10) defeated second-ranked Musel Pikes (19-7) 96-79. The game was mostly controlled by Etzella. Musel Pikes was better in third quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Musel Pikes was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by point guard Philippe Gutenkauf (181-95) who scored that evening 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian power forward Billy McNutt (203-85) supported him with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Very expected game in Bertrange where 6th ranked Sparta (11-14) was defeated by first ranked Amicale (23-2) 87-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Amicale. Sparta was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shavon Coleman (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and international guard Bob Melcher (189-94) who added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American forward Brad Reese (200-88, college: Texas Tech) responded with 29 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international Dean Gindt (201-91) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Sparta's coach Philippe Giberti rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first position in League with 23-2 record. Loser Sparta keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. Amicale will face Kordall Steelers (#3) in Rodange in the next round, which may be the game of the day. We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Luxembourg where fifth ranked T71 (13-11) defeated one of their biggest challengers Contern (13-12) 98-91 on Saturday. BBC Arantia Larochette (Total League) re-signed American swingman Ladarius Tabb (196-86kg, college: Alabama A&M). He was a team leader there last season. In 18 Total League games he was the best scorer with impressive 28.2ppg and recorded 14.4rpg (leader !!!), 1.9apg and 2.6spg (in top 3). A very good season in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Luxembourg League Honorable Mention. BBC Arantia Larochette (Total League) signed 26-year old American guard Xavier Pollard (193-95kg-91). He has only college experience while playing for Kent State University (NCAA).
