The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Amicale (24-3) in Ettelbruck on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Etzella (17-10) 100-74. The game without a history. Etzella led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Amicale's 36. They outrebounded Amicale 49-23 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Etzella looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Amicale's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian power forward Billy McNutt (203-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado) contributed with 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Shavon Coleman (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Court Side) replied with 28 points and 8 rebounds for Amicale. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Etzella maintains third position in League with 17-10 record having seven points less than leader Amicale. Defending champion Amicale still keeps top place with three games lost. Etzella are looking forward to face Sparta (#6) in Bertrange in the next round. Amicale will play at home against T71 (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Musel Pikes (19-9) against fourth ranked T71 (15-11) on Saturday night. Host Musel Pikes was defeated by T71 in Stadrbredimus 81-69. International point guard Tom Schumacher (190-87) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Cory Johnson chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St.) responded with 25 points. T71 maintains fourth position in League with 15-11 record. Musel Pikes at the other side keeps the second place with nine games lost. T71 will play against league's leader Amicale in Steinsel in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Musel Pikes will play on the road against Contern in Luxembourg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Heffingen (18-9) against fourth ranked Bascharage (3-23) on Saturday night. Visiting Heffingen was defeated by Bascharage in a tough game in Kaerjeng 90-95. Phillip Leonard notched 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 40 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds by Mike Jones did not help to save the game for Heffingen. Bascharage maintains fourth position in League with 3-23 record. Newly promoted Heffingen keeps the second place with nine games lost. Bascharage will meet league's leader Racing in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Heffingen will play against the league's leader Basket Esch and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Basket Esch (16-11) which hosted in Esch 3rd ranked Arantia (7-21). First ranked Basket Esch had an easy win 95-75. Bill Clark fired 20 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Basket Esch maintains first position in League with 16-11 record. Arantia at the other side keeps the third place with 21 games lost. Basket Esch's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Heffingen on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arantia will play against Kordall Steelers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Residence (13-14) which played road game in Rodange against one of their biggest challengers Kordall Steelers (16-11). Second ranked Residence managed to get a 6-point victory 91-85. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for Everage Richardson who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Residence maintains second position in League with 13-14 record having eleven points less than leader Amicale. Newly promoted Kordall Steelers keeps the third place with 11 games lost. Residence will face BC Mess (#4) in Mondercange in the next round. Kordall Steelers will play on the road against Arantia in Larochette and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 10
In League Contern was beaten by Sparta on the road 100-87. BC Mess was destroyed by Racing on its own court 45-71.
The most impressive performance of 10th round was 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists by Antonio Bivins of Kordall Steelers.

Sparta - Contern 100-87

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Sparta (12-15) beat 5th ranked Contern (13-14) in Bertrange 100-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sparta. Contern was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sparta looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Contern was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Brad Reese (200-88, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Reese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Sparta's coach Philippe Giberti used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jesse Morgan (196-91, college: Temple) replied with 27 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and international point guard Raul Birenbaum (182-89) added 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Contern. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sparta maintains sixth position in League with 12-15 record. Loser Contern keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Sparta will face higher ranked Etzella (#3) in Ettelbruck in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Contern will play at home against the league's second-placed Musel Pikes and hope to win that game.

Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Arantia's players. An interesting game for Residence (13-14) which played road game in Rodange against one of their biggest challengers Kordall Steelers (16-11). Second ranked Residence managed to get a 6-point victory 91-85. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-15. But Kordall Steelers won second period 30-28. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Residence won last quarter 23-19. They shot 64.8 percent from the field. They also forced 22 Kordall Steelers turnovers. Residence looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) contributed with 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Rather expected game when 4th ranked BC Mess (12-15) was smashed by first ranked Racing (25-2) in Mondercange 71-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. Racing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Mess to just 5 points in third quarter. Racing dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to BC Mess' 20. They outrebounded BC Mess 34-17 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for American forward Mark Ogden (206-94, college: Dixie St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Elijah Bonsignore (198, college: S.New Hampshire) replied with 15 points and Uruguayan forward Facundo Alonso (195) added 10 points in the effort for BC Mess. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Racing maintains first position in League with 25-2 record. BC Mess at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with 15 games lost. BBC US Hiefenech Heffingen (Total League) added to their roster 27-year old American power forward David Sturner (206-104kg-90, college: S.Oregon). He has played for the last two seasons at Dresden Titans in German ProA. In 26 games he had 10.3ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.4apg last season. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Sturner's team made it to the 2.Bundesliga Pro B Semifinals in 2016. Island Storm (NBL Canada) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old American forward Arnold Fripp (201-95kg-93, college: Coppin State). He played most recently at Grengewald in Luxembourg N2 league. Amicale - Musel Pikes 88:68 Amicale conquered the first trophy of the new season. They topped Musel Pikes to earn the SuperCup trophy. Musel Pikes jumped to a 25:19 lead after ten minutes. But Amicale used a 25:12 run in the second term to take a 7-point halftime lead. They went on a 21:7 run in the fourth period to seal a comfortable victory.
