It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Total League, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders.

The biggest surprise of round 3 was guest Etzella's (2-1) road victory over T71 (#8) 87-77 on Friday evening. T71 trailed 47-44 at halftime, rallying from a 34-18 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. Etzella made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Jairo Delgado (188-85) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international point guard Tom Schumacher (190-87) who recorded 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Etzella is looking forward to face Musel Pikes (#3) in Stadrbredimus in the next round, which may be the game of the day. T71 will play on the road against Contern in Luxembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Eric McAlister contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Xavier Ford (201-93, college: Buffalo) answered with 27 points and 9 rebounds for Contern. Racing will play against Amicale in Steinsel in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Contern will play at home against T71 (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game was played in Stadrbredimus where host Musel Pikes (#7) won against Sparta 84-72 on Friday evening. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for Jarmar Gulley who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Brad Reese with 23 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Musel Pikes will meet Etzella (#4) in the next round. Sparta will play against Basket Esch and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a quality performance for Clancy Rugg who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Basket Esch's next round opponent will be Sparta (#7) in Bertrange which should be theoretically another easy game. Heffingen will play at home against Residence and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 3 Amicale defeated Residence in Steinsel 107-101.

Racing - Contern 81-80

Important game to mention about took place in Luxembourg. Racing (3-0) saved a 1-point victory at home edging Contern (1-2) 81-80 on Friday evening. Contern was ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 21-12 charge of Racing, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Contern 43-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) who saved his team from a defeat with 31 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Xavier Ford (201-93, college: Buffalo) answered with 27 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jaylen Bland (190-93, college: Cal-Riverside) added 23 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Contern. Four Contern players scored in double figures. Racing will play against Amicale in Steinsel in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Contern will play at home against T71 (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a great evening for swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Michael Nwelue (195-93, college: Drury) helped adding 15 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Brad Reese (200-88, college: Texas Tech) with 23 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Basket Esch - Heffingen 86-58

The game with biggest result difference took place in Esch. Local Basket Esch (2-1) outscored Heffingen (1-2) 86-58. Basket Esch dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Heffingen's 32 and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Heffingen 49-27 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Basket Esch players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Heffingen's players. American players dominated the game. It was a quality performance for power forward Clancy Rugg (203-91, college: Vermont, agency: Court Side) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Jordan Hicks (201-90, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. There was no surprise in Bereldange where Residence (0-3) was defeated by Amicale (2-1) 107-101. Amicale's next round opponent will be Racing in Luxembourg and it will be for sure the game of the week. Residence will play on the road against Heffingen (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games. Round 5 in Total League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Dudelange where host T71 (3-2) beat league's leader Amicale (3-2) 80-75 on Saturday evening. N2 Round 5: Soleuvre beats T.Hesperange by one after a very close game - 2 days ago
The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with games ending by tiny margin and even winless team recording their first victory. The most exciting game of round 5 in the N2 took place in Belvaux. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed T.Hesperange (4-2) to second ranked Soleuvre (5-1) 75-74 on Saturday evening.
