Athelta and Siggiewi will play in 2011 MBA Shield Final.
Athleta prevailed against Depiro Mtarfa 67:52 in a tough battle. Dirk Schembri (193-F-85) scored 14 points to lead the winners. Athleta surged ahead early in the encounter and recorded an 18:8 lead ten minutes into the game. Depiro stopped the rot in the second frame and cut the deficit to 9 points at the interval. Athleta however picked up the tempo in the third term. They gained a comfortable 15-point lead with one quarter remaining. Depiro and Athleta exchanged baskets throughout the fourth frame as Athleta ran for the victory at the end. Michael Naudi (193-G/F-80) nailed 12 points, while Kawaid top-scored with 16 points in the win. Isaac Tanti (180-F-90) and Greg Hamlin (201-F, college: E.Tenn.St.) answered with 11 points each for Depiro.
Siggiewi held off Bupa Luxol 70:67 in a highly-contestant battle. Siggiewi got to the stronger start. They enjoyed a 29:18 lead in the second quarter. Luxol erased the deficit and drew things level at 35 right after the big break. Siggiewi pulled back in charge in the fourth quarter. They held off all of Luxol efforts to return into the game and celebrated a tough win at the end. Maier nailed 16 points, while Clement Kodomaris (197-F-81) posted 14 points in the victory. Jeron Belin (198-F-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: St.Peter's) answered with 38 points for Luxol. Lee Ross (182-G-89) netted 13 points in the loss.

Ametx Zornotza (LEB Silver) agreed terms with 25-year old Maltese international forward Tevin Falzon (203-102kg-92, agency: Octagon Europe). Falzon just graduated from Sacred Heart (NCAA).
