Siggiewi stayed alive in the semifinal series versus Athleta. They claimed a 69:64 home win in Game 2 to level things up at 1-1. The decisive third game is scheduled on April 7. Siggiewi stayed in control during the home game. They posted a 19:16 lead after ten minutes. The margin grew at 5-point mark at halftime 39:34. Athleta stiffened defence in the second half cutting the gap to 3 points with one quarter remaining. But Siggiewi knocked down 19 points in the fourth period to seal the victory at the end. Marko Matijevic (200-F-78) accounted for 28 points for Siggiewi. Chris Meier (198-F, college: Saddleback JC) contributed 17 points in the win. Omar Said (177-PG-80) responded with 21 points for Athleta. Marko Todorovic (204-F/C-85) netted 14 points in the loss.
Depiro overcame Floriana 69:52 to head into the third game in the series. Floriana enjoyed a 15:11 lead after ten minutes but Depiro took over in the second quarter. They piled up a 29:27 halftime lead. The teams stayed close throughout the third term however the hosts went on a 21:8 run in the fourth quarter to clear off. Adrian Micallef (190-F-79) accounted for 17 points, while Greg Hamlin (201-F-86, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 14 points for the winners. Evan Fjeld (203-F-88, agency: Interperformances, college: Vermont) reacted with 29 points for Floriana.

BUPA Luxol were yesterday crowned Malta basketball champions for the 13th time in the club's history after defeating Floriana MCP Car Parks 84-71 to seal the final play-off series 3-0. This was Luxol's first championship crown after an absence of eight years.
