Andorra - Malta 75:65

Andorra claimed the win in the first semifinal at the European Championship for Small Countries tonight. They held off Malta for the spot in the Final. Xavier Galera (182-PG-82) came up with 21 points for the winners.
Malta jumped to a 23:12 lead ten minutes into the game. Andorra slowly took over in the second quarter. They cut the deficit to trail by 8 points at halftime 33:41. Andorra narrowed the gap even more in the third quarter. They trailed by just 4 points heading into the fourth period 52:56. Andorra then stunned their opponents with a 23:9 run in the fourth period to seal a comfortable win. Oriol Fernandez (186-F-88) accounted for 14 points, 7 assists and 4 boards, while Rafael Casals added 12 points for the winners. Darryl Jackson (189-SG-85, agency: Interperformances, college: Warner Pacific) answered with 25 points for Malta. Samuel Deguara (223-C-91) tallied 22 points and 17 rebounds in the loss.
