Athleta - BUPA Luxol 67:56

Athleta victoriously opened the new season. They clinched the first trophy of the season. Athleta overcame BUPA Luxol to celebrate St James SuperCup. The teams clashed at the University Sports Hall, Tal-Qroqq. Luxol surged ahead in the first half. Led by Steve Shackelford Luxol posted a 32:30 lead after twenty minutes of action. But Athleta found the way to turn things around in the second half. They stepped on the gas in the fourth quarter and snatched a difficult win at the end. David Bugeja (180-SG-92) stepped up with 17 points to lead the winners. Marko Todorovic (204-F/C-85) accounted for 16 points for Athleta.   



Powerade League Round 7: #1 Cynergi are defeated by Hibernians - 6 days ago
The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Cynergi (5-2) on the court of sixth ranked Hibernians on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Hibernians 71-66. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Cynergi. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 18-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Gzira Athleta clinch Louis Borg Cup title - 8 days ago
Gzira Athleta produced an outstanding performance in the first game to open up a size-able 21-point margin and then managed to wave off Floriana's efforts in game 2 to win the Louis Borg Cup for a record ninth time in history and also laying their hands on the fourth seasonal honour. Powerade League Round 6: Athleta lose to Bupa in the game between Top 4 teams - 20 days ago
Very significant was Bupa's (#2, 4-2) victory against 4th ranked Athleta (2-3) 80-76. Bupa have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-2 record behind leader Cynergi. Athleta at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Starlites. Bupa are looking forward to face Starlites (#5) in the next round.
