The 2012 Women's Malta Shield Tournament came down to Luxol and Loyola to see who would take home the Shield Cup in 2012. Luxol was the favorite coming in and many thought they would win it big and they did. Luxol defeated Loyola 67-51 in the Shield Finals; Mollie Williams Dominated the opponents through the whole tournament and continued to do so in the Championship game where she had 29pts, 27rebs, and 3 blks. Loyola was led by Brietta Thomas whom put together another very good performance but it was not enough to knock off Luxol. Thomas finished with 25pts, 13rebs and 3stls in the Championship. Through the stats we have received through our source in Malta Luxol looks to be the dominating team with the most dominate player in Mollie Williams; Luxol has captured all 3 cups so far in the early season.
