1. Honors Shawn Morgan 6'6" G/F Arkansas State (NCAA 1) Depiro Player of the week for his performances between DEC 10-DEC 16, 2012. Morgan put together one of the best weeks performances wise in Malta. Morgan had a 40pt 20rebs 5ast 3stl game in a big win over Siggiewi early in the week. Depiro split 2 games during the week where Morgan avg 35.0ppg, 15.5rpg, 5.5apg, 2.5spg during the span Morgan currently is considered the best player in Malta; during the season Morgan is avg 29.5ppg (1), 10.5rpg (7), 5.1apg (2nd), 3.6spg (1) through 8 games. Morgan is at the top of the MVP list in Malta. Depiro at this point will only go as far as Morgan carries them through the season and the playoffs.

2. Stephen Shackleford 6'6" G UTSA (Luxol) has been awarded the 2nd best performance of the week. Shackleford has been one of the most surprising stories coming out of UTSA everyone knew the young man could shoot the ball but no one would have guessed he would be leading the league in rebounding at this point. Over 2 games this week Shackleford avg 29.0ppg, 14.5rpg, 4.5apg, 4.5spg. Shacklford is a young man that will push Morgan for the MVP award and a lot of it will be determined if Shackleford can bring up his shooting percentages the 2nd half of the season and if he can lead Luxol into the playoffs. Shackleford is currently avg 26.9ppg (2nd), 17.2rpg (1), 3.7apg (3), 3.4spg (2nd). This could be a very interesting race to the playoffs as well as in the MVP Race.

3. The 3rd Best Performance is a tie between Omar Said (Athleta) and Phillip Thomas (Floriana) both of the players had two outstanding games in leading their club to the Knockout Championship. Said and Thomas both only played in one game during the week. Said had 28pts, 10rebs, 3ast and 2stls in the win against Depiro. Said is avg 16.1ppg (6), 7.3rpg, 2.0apg, 1.9spg on the season in 10 games. Thomas had 26pts, 13rebs, 1ast, 2blks in Floriana's win over Luxol this weekend to advance to the Knockout Finals. Thomas is currently avg 25.9ppg (3), 13.9rpg (3), 1.1spg, 1.0apg, .7bpg (4).
