Qormi Phoenix broke through January 5, 2013 with their first win in franchise history against Starlites. Qormi came into the 2012-2013 season looking to improve from a season in 2011-2012 that seen the team go 0-11 in their first season. Qormi came in with high hopes of getting a win as they have been seeing their club improving on a daily basis and felt that it was the day that the 15 game losing streak would come to an end; Qormi pulled off a 56-43 victory. Qormi was led by Brittaney Thomas (175-G-88) 5'9" Guard whom put on a show scoring 43 points which matched the total for Starlites. Orlando Bonnici President of Qormi spoke about the victory shortly after " we are determined not to make this a one time occasion and hopefully we will consolidate our place next season with new players. It won't be easy, but if we act intelligently we will manage" Qormi will play Hibs on Sunday January 13th and their expectation is nothing short of their 2nd victory of the season.
