Floriana made the first step in the play-offs semifinals against Bupa Luxol as they obtained their 4th victory against them 87-68. Floriana went 10-4 ahead after a trey by Chad Patus (203-F-87, college: Belm.Abbey) and points by Nikola Vasovic. Luxol replied with treys by JP Schembri, JP Bonnici and William Ahlberg however Floriana closed the period with two baskets from Patus and Nigel Sultana for an 18-13 score. Luxol opened well in the second session with 7-0 run to go in front. Floriana reacted well with an 11-2 run with more Patus points. Luxol had another Schembri trey but Floriana were still leading at the interval 40-29. After the break Luxol had points by Marco Mercieca but Patus put more points for Floriana including a trey. Luxol replied with treys from Schembri and Ahlberg before two runs of 8-0 and 8-1 by Floriana for a 65-44 score. In the last quarter, Floriana had Nick Andrejevic treys to increase their lead. Luxol ended the match on a positive note as they went for a final 11-2 run but Floriana won the match 87-68.

Champions Falken Cynergi Virtus started their title defense in style as they obtained a comfortable victory against last year's finalists Gzira Athleta. Athleta missed Roderick Vella especially in offence where Virtus continuous press made them loose several possessions. Virtus put in the first points however Athleta reacted quickly with an 8-0 run including a Michael Naudi triple. Virtus replied with a 13-2 run with treys by Jacob Formosa and Shawn Pace (175-SG-90) as they ended the first quarter ahead 21-14. In the next period, Virtus began with another 10-2 run with Pace and David Camilleri (SG) triples. Athleta replied with a short 7-2 run however this did not last long since Virtus made another 13-2 run to enjoy a strong advantage at halftime 46-27. After the break, Athleta manage to reduce the lead with a 13-4 run including a Billy Zammit triple and points from Naudi and Lee Fisher. However, champions replied once more as they went for an 11-2 run with a Peter Shoults trey and they kept their strong advantage 65-46 for the last period. The two sides were answering each other in the last period and this kept Virtus well ahead of their opponents. Champions had more treys by Camilleri and Robert Bonnici as they won the game 90-66.

Today Athleta obtained their third consecutive win over Marvels Power Plus for a 3-0 victory in the best-of-5 playoff final.
