Gira Athleta obtained their second cup of the season when they won the St. James Hospital Super Cup against Starlites. Athleta were in control of the match from the first minutes as Starlites had a 1 point advantage half way through the first period 10-9. Athleta had an 11-0 run to close the first period in front 30-16. Athleta opened the second period with points by Michael Naudi and Josiah Whitehead (198-F-86, college: Robert Morris) and altough there was a short reaction by Starlites, Athleta were leading 50-30 at halftime. In the third period both sides had their moments with three pointers David Camilleri and Peter Shoults for Athleta and Jacob Formosa and Thomas Grech for Starlites. Athleta still had a comfortable 70-47 lead for the last period which they opened with another 12-0 run. Formosa netted another couple of treys for Starlites but Athleta were in control and won the game 92-60.
