Starlites obtained a positive result against Cynergi Depiro in their final match of the St. James Hospital shield although they did not qualify for the semi-finals. Depiro went in front 7-2 before a Starlites 11-0 run with treys by Ivan Mitrovic and Thomas Grech. After two hoops by Depiro, there was another 8-0 break from Starlites who ended the first quarter 25-16 ahead. In the second period, both teams replied to each other. Andrew Aquilina netted a triple for Depiro before points by Jacob Formosa and Nicola Stankovic and at halftime Starlites were still leading by 8 points 42-34. Depiro came out more aggressive after the break however their efforts suffered a bow late during the period with a David Bugeja injury. Starlites opened the fourth period with a 14-2 run with treys from Mitrovic and Anthony Schembri to go in front once more.
