David Bugeja's absence for Depiro was a key factor in this match as Athleta obtained a comfortable victory. Athleta opened with a 12-2 run with points by Josiah Whitehead (198-F-86, college: Robert Morris). Depiro replied with points from Dominic Scafidi (196-F) but Athleta kept a slight advantage at the end of the first quarter 18-16. In the next period, Athleta began with a 10-0 run mainly with three pointers from David Camilleri and Roderick Vella. Athleta kept their pressure as they went on for another 12-2 run with more treys form Camilleri and Peter Shoults for a strong 47-25 lead at halftime. After the break, there was another 9-0 run by the winners as Depiro had the better ending of the period with treys by Robert Bonnici and Samuel Zammit in an 11-0 run for a 60-39 score. The last period had Athleta keeping their lead strongly as they kept Depiro at a safe distance to win the game 83-53.

Luxol strengthened their line-up as they included William Ahlberg for the first time this season who is now classified as local foreigner together with Pierce Cumpstone (203-F-94). Floriana opened the game with a 10-2 run with points from Anton Axiaq and Nikola Vasovic. Cumpstone and CJ Cordina replied for Luxol however Floriana were leading by six points 14-8. In the second quarter, points from Ahlberg and Cumpstone drew Luxol nearer however, Floriana replied back with another 9-3 run to increase their lead once more. Luxol replied again this time with a strong 11-2 run which saw them taking the lead for the first time 30-29, which they kept for the interval 33-32. After the break, Floriana were again the better side as they had a strong 17-2 run as Chad Patus, Shawn Pace (175-SG-90) and Vasovic all had their treys for a 54-42 advantage. In the last quarter both teams were replying to each other and Luxol never managed to reduce the gap further despite having a couple of triples from CJ Cordina. Consecutive hoops from Axiaq and Vasovic and a Patus triple closed the game for Floriana who now face Athleta in the shield final next week.

In 21 games he averaged 5.0ppg and 3.6rpg last season. Falzon helped them to make it to the final. Unieuro 2.015 Forli (Serie A2) landed 32-year old Maltese shooting guard Darryl Jackson (190-82kg-85, college: Warner Pacific, agency: Diamond Sports) from Givova Scafati Basket. In 17 Serie A2 games in Italy he averaged impressive 18.9ppg, 3.1rpg and 2.7apg last season. Jackson also played that season for Juvecaserta (Serie A) where in 12 games he had just 2.7ppg.
