July 19, 2011 San Marino - Moldova. 69-62. After a very good prepartion camp for one month in Moldova U-18 team came with one goal - gold medal. It is always very hard to play the first game, since it kind of gives you the flow of the tournament and every team wants to win the first game. But playing the host country during the first game is always hard. It was a good game, and to be honest, the whole tournament, for Salopa who scored 16 points and had 7 rebounds per night. Daniel Marcenco (197-C-93) with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks and Emil Ostafiiciuc (C-94) with 12 points, 15 rebounds, 7 of the being offencive, 2 blocks added to the 62 points scored for Moldova. It was not a great field goals percentage, only 43,6%, but San Marino had even less 30,1. So what was the problem in the loss of Moldova team? And the answer is turnovers. 27 turnovers in 40 minutes of the game. This is too much. It was big dissapointment for Moldova team and coaches in special. But the greatest dissapointmen has not come yet.
July 20, 2011 Moldova - Gibraltar. 73-31. It was an easy evening for Moldova team who smashed Gibraltar team. The interesting moment here is that all Moldova players were on the field and scored. Salopa scored the most 15 points, 6 rebounds. It is necessary to remark Marcenco with 11 poitns and 10 rebounds, 6 being offencive, and Vazdauntanu with 9 rebounds and 8 points. Nothing more to say about this game. It was clear that the next game will be decicive.
July 21, 2011 Wales - Moldova. 74-72. The biggest dissapointment game of the tournament for Moldova. After winning first 3 quarters and leading by 13 points (48-61), Moldova lost 20-11 and lost the whole game by just 2 points. What a disaster, that caused the final game. But let's go step by step.
Moldova started very well, being very motivated for the win. But the lead after first quarter was not big, just 3 points. After scoring 20 points and allowing to score Wales only 13 points, the lead was already 10 points. It was a great game for Daniel Marcenco, who was the king under the basket. An impressive 16 rebounds, 8 offensive, 18 points and 6 blocks. Very good game for Salopa, who scored 23 points during the night, adding to his statistics 7 rebounds, 5 steals AND 8 turnovers.
Needed result was so close, but lack of experience and emotional control played it bad role, which caused only a third place for Moldovan team in overall clasification. Golden game was so close, but game is over after 40 minutes of play and not 30, what a big price for such lesson.
July 23, 2011 Moldova - Andorra. 74-63. Not a easy game, but after such a loss and one day of rest Moldova needed a win. And they got it. It is good to mention that 5 players on the team scored double scores. Salopa again scoring the most, 15 points, with an inpressive 83,3% from the field and 100% from the free through line, Levitschii and Ostafiiciuc rebounding the most, 9 rebounds each.
Congratulations with the bronze medal to the whole team of players and coaches. Also needed to mention that 2 players from Moldova team made it to All Star tournament team. Salopa and Daniel Marcenco joined MVP from San Marino, Julian Gualtieri and 2 players from Wales, Jacob Lloyd and Sumiullah Khan.

BC Donbaschet sweep the Final series and becomes a Champion in Moldova. The team overcame Gama in three consecutive games and won the Play-offs!

In the third game Donbaschet Casa Noastra USM won 75:71 and clinched the top place in Moldova. Vitaliy Oprea (200-C-86) was named MVP of the Finals. Ivan Cropotov (209-C-88) received best Center award, while Tkachenko Yvgen was named the best Forward. Roman Rusu (192-G-81) was awarded the best Guard in the league. In the series for the 3-4 place BC UASM overcame Auto-Red 87:71 and 68:66. CS UTM-Politeh finished 5th in the League as they won both games against Soroca-Baschet, 82:74 and 86:62.

Gamma and Donbasket reach the Finals in the country. Both teams easily won over their opponents in the Semifinal clashes.
Gamma overcame Ribnita 118:71 and 105:76. Donbasket meanwhile edged UASM 98:73 and 91:76.
The first game of the finals is planned for Apr 28.
