   #1. This week's number one is an international center Nikola Pekovic (209-86, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Pekovic could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (6-8) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were defeated 103-95 on the road by the Portland Trail Blazers. Pekovic recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 10 rebounds. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Pekovic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 14.9ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 48.9% and FT: 74.1%. Pekovic is currently a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Spain). He led Valencia Basket to a 3-point victory over the tenth-ranked Regal FC Barcelona (5-4) 81-78 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. Dubljevic was MVP of the game. He scored 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. Valencia Basket (7-2) is placed third in the ACB. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Dubljevic has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 3FGP: 58.8%(10-17) and FT: 87.5% in the eight games he played so far. He is in the roster of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #3. The Montenegrin player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Nikola Vucevic (210-90, college: USC, currently plays in NBA). Vucevic contributed to an Orlando Magic's victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (3-12) 108-104 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored 10 points, had 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks. The Orlando Magic has 5-9 record this season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Vucevic's first year with the team. This season Vucevic has relatively solid stats: 9.3ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.5apg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 46.8% and FT: 70.6%. He is also a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (188-82, another player represented by Beo Basket, college: St.John's, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Italy was not able to help Armani Milano (3-5) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his good performance the fourth-placed Armani Milano was edged 64-62 in Vitoria by the lower-ranked Caja Laboral (#6) in the group C of Euroleague. Cook was the second best scorer with 14 points. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Cook is ranked fifth on the list of the best passers in the league. His overall stats this season are: 7.4ppg, 1.6rpg, 5.4apg and 1.4spg. Cook is a naturalized American. He is also Montenegrin national team player. Strangely Cook has never played in Montenegro.

   #5. U20 international power forward Nemanja Radovic (206-91, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Serbia) was not able to secure a victory for Vrsac (6-4) in their game against Sloboda (6-4) in the Serbian A League, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. He was the top scorer with 19 points. Radovic also added 9 rebounds in 29 minutes. But Vrsac lost 69-76 in Uzice to the lower-ranked (#5) Sloboda. Radovic is currently sixth on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (third place). He has very impressive stats this year: 15.5ppg, 9.4rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2bpg in the 10 games. Radovic used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team last year.

   #6. Swingman Suad Sehovic (196-87, currently plays in Ukraine) couldn't help Khimik (11-4) in their game against Cherkasy (7-8) in the Ukrainian Superleague. Despite his very good performance in Friday night's game He was the second best scorer with 17 points. It's Sehovic's first season with the team. Sehovic has reliable stats this year: 12.6ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.5apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.

   #7. International power forward Milko Bjelica (205-84, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Caja Laboral's victory against the closely-ranked Unicaja Malaga (5-4) 90-79 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. Bjelica scored 10 points and added 3 assists in 23 minutes. Caja Laboral Vitoria (6-3) is placed sixth in the ACB. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This year Bjelica averages only 4.6ppg in the seven games. He is also Montenegrin national team player.

   #8. Swingman Sead Sehovic (196-89, currently plays in Adriatic League) couldn't help Szolnok (2-8) in their game against Igokea (8-2) in the Adriatic League. Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Sehovic was the second best scorer with 17 points. He also added 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Sehovic averaged so far 12.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.7apg. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #9. Former international forward Ivan Ivanovic (205-80, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Romania) was the major contributor in a Gaz Metan's victory against one of league's weakest teams CS Dinamo Bucuresti (0-9) crushing them 106-64 in the Romanian Division A in Friday night's game. Ivanovic scored 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in a mere 15 minutes. CS Gaz Metan Medias (7-3) is placed fifth in the Division A. Ivanovic's stats this year are: 13.5ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.4apg in the 10 games. He used to play for the Montenegrin national team four years ago.

Power forward Marko Todorovic (210-92, currently plays in Euroleague) managed to help Regal FC Barcelona to win against the third-ranked Besiktas (4-4) crushing them 78-48 in the Euroleague last Friday. Todorovic scored only 4 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Regal FC Barcelona (8-0) is placed first in group D. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. Todorovic's overall stats this season are: 1.5ppg and 1.2rpg. He is U21 international player who is currently on the Montenegrin National Team roster.

   #11. International shooting guard Bojan Bakic (195-83, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Serbia) couldn't help Metalac in their game against Mega Vizura in the Serbian A League, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. Bakic scored 17 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 36 minutes. It was his first game for Metalac this season. But his team was edged 89-87. Bakic plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #12. Former U20 international power forward Filip Barovic (208-90, currently plays in Hungary) led Soproni to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Jaszberenyi 91-73 in the Hungarian A Division in Saturday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds. Barovic is currently second on the list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (third place). This season he has very high stats. Barovic averages: 20.6ppg, 9.7rpg, 1.7apg, 1.1bpg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team back in 2010.

   #13. Former U21 international point guard Goran Martinic (184-87, agency: BeoExcell, currently plays in Romania) led CSM Bucuresti to a victory against the ninth-ranked Craiova 87-78 in the Romanian Division A in Saturday night's game. He scored 19 points and added 5 assists in 31 minutes. Martinic is ranked first on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of most steals (fifth place). He has very impressive stats this year: 23.8ppg, 2.0rpg, 4.2apg and 2.0spg in the nine games. Martinic used to play for the Montenegrin U21 national team five years ago.

   #14. International power forward Vladimir Dasic (208-88, currently plays in Euroleague) helped his Turkish team Besiktas win their game against the closely-ranked Brose Baskets Bamberg 83-72 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. He recorded 5 points. Dasic's overall stats this season are: 5.3ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.1apg. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #15. International guard Boris Bakic (193-86, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League) led his FYR Macedonian team MZT Skopje to a victory over one of league's weakest teams KK Zadar 76-68 in the Adriatic League last Saturday. Bakic was the best player in that game. He recorded 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 34 minutes. This year Bakic's overall stats are: 6.8ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1spg in the nine games. He is also in the roster of the Montenegrin national team.


The list of other players, who all have Montenegrin passport but never been selected to any of Montenegrin national teams:

   #1. Nikola Mirotic (207-F/C-91, currently plays in Euroleague) was the major contributor in a Real Madrid's victory against the closely-ranked Khimky (5-3) crushing them 104-81 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. He recorded 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 23 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group A. Real Madrid (5-2) is placed first. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Mirotic has relatively good stats this year: 12.4ppg and 5.1rpg in the seven games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Spanish. Despite Mirotic's Montenegrin passport, he currently plays for the Spanish U20 national team and is not eligible to play for the Montenegrin team.

   #2. Brion Rush (186-G-84, agency: Beo Basket, college: Grambling St., currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in France could not help Chalon/Saor (2-6) in their last game. Despite Rush's very good performance the fifth-placed Chalon/Saor lost 82-87 on the road to the higher-ranked (#4) ALBA Berlin in the group B of Euroleague. He was the second best scorer with 21 points. Rush also added 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Rush has reliable stats this year: 13.9ppg, 3.1rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg in the eight games. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Rush has never played in Montenegro.

   #3. Miljan Pavkovic (178-G-81, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Eurocup) led his Czech Republic team CEZ Nymburk to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Rudupis (2-2) crushing them 90-66 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. He recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. CEZ Basketball Nymburk (3-1) is placed first in the Eurocup. There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Pavkovic's first season with the team. Pavkovic is currently fifth on the league's list of best passers. His overall stats this season are: 6.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 5.5apg.

   #4. Petar Despotovic (194-G-88, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Serbia) led Konstantin to a victory over the 14th-ranked Sloga (1-9) 77-72 in the Serbian A League in Saturday night's game. Despotovic was the best player in that game. He scored 21 points, had 5 boards, passed 6 assists and added 3 steals in 34 minutes. KK Konstantin Nis (6-4) is placed third in the A League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Despotovic is ranked seventh on the list of the best passers in the league with 3.5apg. He also averaged so far 13.0ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.6spg in the 10 games. Despotovic is another player who holds two passports: Montenegrin and Serbian. Despite his Montenegrin nationality, Despotovic previously played for the Serbian university national team and probably cannot be called to the Montenegrin team.

   #5. Stevan Milosevic (211-C-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague was not able to help Olimpi (4-1) in their last game. Despite Milosevic's very good performance Olimpi was badly defeated 97-81 at home by the higher-ranked (#3) Kutaisi. He had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 13 rebounds. Milosevic also added 2 blocks in 33 minutes. It was Olimpi's first loss after four consecutive victories. Milosevic belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #8) and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has very reliable stats this year: 15.0ppg, 12.8rpg, 1.2apg and 1.2bpg in the five games.

   #6. Experienced Branko Cuic (197-G-78, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Division A was not able to secure a victory for Targu Mures (6-3) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Cuic's very good performance Targu Mures was defeated 63-59 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Rovinari (#8). He was the top scorer with 21 points. Cuic also added 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Cuic belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #4. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Cuic averages: 15.8ppg, 6.0rpg and 5.8apg.

   #7. Bojan Subotic (203-F-90, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to a 3-point Zvezda's victory against the closely-ranked Banco di Sardegna Sassari 97-94 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Subotic's overall stats this season are: 8.0ppg and 5.5rpg.

   #8. Radomir Marojevic (207-C-81, currently plays in Serbia) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Radnicki Basket crushing them 101-59 in the Serbian A League on Wednesday night. He recorded 10 points in only 13 minutes. This year Marojevic's overall stats are: 7.8ppg and 2.8rpg in the 10 games.

   #9. Vasilije Seferovic (193-G/F-85, currently plays in Serbia), who plays in the Serbian A League couldn't help KK Jagodina (3-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Seferovic's very good performance KK Jagodina was edged 82-80 in Cacak by the higher-ranked Borac (#6). He was the top scorer with 22 points. Seferovic also added 3 assists. Seferovic is currently eighth on the list of top scorers. This season he has very high stats. Seferovic averages: 15.2ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.0apg and 1.3spg.

   #10. Nikola Dragovic (206-F-87, college: UCLA, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a Air Avellino's victory against the closely-ranked Enel Brindisi 81-71 in the Italian SerieA last Sunday. He scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Dragovic averaged so far 12.2ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.4spg. He has both Serbian and Montenegrin nationalities. Despite Dragovic's Montenegrin passport, he currently plays for the Serbian university national team.

Darussafaka Dogus 80 - KK Buducnost 57 (24-16; 18-10, 15-13; 23-18) Darussafaka Dogus has just beaten Montenegrin side KK Buducnost and reached the final of Zadar Dogus Tournament: 80-57. American forward Will Clyburn(201-F-90, college: Iowa St.) led his team to an easy victory by scoring 24 points. They'll be playing in the final of the tournament tomorrow at 21:00 C. Milos Jelovac (ex Rotenburg/S.) signs at Jedinstvo - 9 hours ago

KK Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje (Erste Liga) landed 19-year old Montenegrin guard Milos Jelovac (188-77kg-97). He played most recently at BG 89 Rotenburg/Scheessel in German Oberliga. In 14 games he averaged impressive 22.6ppg last season. The previous (14-15) season Jelovac played at Gorstak (Prva B). He represented Montenegro at the European Championships U18 in Konya (Turkey) two years ago. His stats at that event were 3 games: 2.3ppg. Jelovac has played previously for Pljevlja. Zadar outgun Buducnost at Zadar Dogus Tournament - 13 hours ago

Zadar - Buducnost 90:80 Zadar posted the first victory at the home Zadar Dogus Basketball Tournament. They topped Buducnost for 1-1 record. Jakov Vladovic(187-PG-83), Ivan Marinkovic (209-F/C-93) and Boris Barac (205-F-92, agency: BeoBasket) scored 18 points apiece to lead the Croatian team. Zadar registered a 30:19 lead ten minutes into the game. They extended the lead at 12-point mark at the interval. Buducnost narrowed the deficit at 10-point mark heading into the fourth quarter.
