Primorje Herceg Novi announced today the signing of two players for the second part of 2012/2013 season. The ambitious club from Southern Montenegro signed point guard Milani Malik (168-G, college: Bloomfield) and power forward Tara Johnson (177-F, college: E.Michigan). Malik arrived to Montenegro yesterday while Johnson will join the team on Thursday. They will replace Amanda Johnson (167-G-89, college: Nevada) and Stephisha Walton (180-G/F-87, college: Cal Poly Pomona) that left the team earlier than expected due to family reasons.

Milani Malik is a 26 year old athletic guard with the ability to shoot the basketball from anywhere on the floor. She started her career at Stony Brook University (NCAA1) and played later in Israel for Elizur Rishon Lezion and in Trinidad & Tabogo. The curiosity is that she played last year in male basketball league for a club called NYC Thunder and she was the only female in professional basketball. During the summer Malik attended work outs of New York Liberty (WNBA). She started the season with the Thunder but decided to move to Montenegro after she received a call from Primorje.

Tara Johnson played four seasons at Eastern Michigan (NCAA1) and spent her first professional season in Flint Lady Monarchs (WBCBL). She is known as a good rebounder and will be expected to add size under the basket. Malik will make a debut against Buducnost in domestic league on Wednesday while Johnson will probably play her first game on Saturday.
