   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Jelena Skerovic (176-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in Euroleague). She contributed to a USK Praha's victory against the sixth-ranked Perfumerias Avenida (2-5) 78-65 in the Euroleague in Wednesday night's game. Skerovic had a double-double by scoring 10 points and making 11 passes. She also added 9 rebounds in 39 minutes on the court. ZVVZ USK Praha (3-4) is placed fourth in group C. It's Skerovic's first season with the team. Skerovic is currently fourth on the list of best passers with 6.6apg. She also averaged so far 8.1ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 32.1%, 3FGP: 36.0% and FT: 75.0% in the seven games she played so far. Skerovic is currently a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

Eshaya Murphy

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Eshaya Murphy (182-85, college: USC, currently plays in Russia), who plays in the Russian PBL. She could not help one of league's weakest teams Dynamo Kursk (5-2) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Murphy's very good performance Dynamo Kursk was defeated 77-66 on the road by the leading UMMC Ekaterinburg. She was the second best scorer with 15 points. Murphy also added 4 rebounds. Murphy has relatively good stats this season: 11.2ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.6apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 39.5%, 3FGP: 29.4% and FT: 78.6%. She has a dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Puerto Rican. Murphy is in the roster of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #3. The Montenegrin player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Iva Perovanovic (188-83, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Russia. She was not able to help Nadezhda Orenburg (4-3) in their last game. Despite Perovanovic's good performance the fourth-placed Nadezhda Orenburg lost 67-77 in Kosice to the second-ranked Good Angels in the group B of Euroleague. She scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 28 minutes. This year Perovanovic averages: 7.7ppg, 5.0rpg, 2FGP: 54.3% and FT: 69.6% in the seven games. She is also a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #4. Swingman Ana Dabovic (183-89, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TKBL was not able to secure a victory for TED Ankara (1-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Dabovic's very good performance TED Ankara was defeated 85-74 in Adana by the much higher-ranked Ceyhan Bld (#4). She was the second best scorer with 23 points. Dabovic also added 5 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 4 balls. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Dabovic is ranked seventh on the list of the top scorers in the league. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Dabovic averages: 16.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 3.3apg and 2.0spg. She used to play for the Montenegrin U18 national team back in 2007.

   #5. International forward Milka Bjelica (193-81, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help CSM Targoviste (3-4) in their game against Familia Schio (6-1) in the Euroleague. Bjelica scored 9 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 36 minutes. But CSM Targoviste (#5) lost 62-66 in Schio to the leading Familia in the group B of Euroleague. This year Bjelica's overall stats are: 9.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.2apg and 1.2spg in the six games. She used to play for the Montenegrin national team last year.

   #6. Power forward Milica Jovanovic (189-89, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TKBL couldn't help Besiktas (5-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Jovanovic's very good performance Besiktas was defeated 80-69 at home by the higher-ranked Botas (#3). She was the second best scorer with 20 points. Jovanovic also added 5 rebounds. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Jovanovic has relatively solid stats: 14.4ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.3apg and 1.6spg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.

   #7. International center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jelena Skerovic. But that was another game of her team in Czech Republic ZBL which we would like to mention. Dubljevic helped USK Praha win their game against the tenth-ranked Aldast Strakonice (3-11) crushing them 107-68. She scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in only 12 minutes. ZVVZ USK Praha (14-0) is placed first in the ZBL. So far her team won all fourteen games in the Regular Season. Dubljevic has reliable stats this year: 10.8ppg, 6.8rpg, 2.0apg and 1.2spg in the 13 games. She is also Montenegrin national team player.

   #8. An experienced shooting guard Anna De Forge (178-76, also represented by Josep and Nicolas, college: Nebraska, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jelena Skerovic. She played also in the last Czech Republic ZBL game facing Jelena Dubljevic (above) in the other team. De Forge helped USK Praha win their game against the tenth-ranked Aldast Strakonice (3-11) crushing them 107-68. She scored 10 points. De Forge's total stats this season are: 9.8ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.3apg and 1.3spg. She is a naturalized American. De Forge used to play for the Montenegrin national team last year. Strangely she has never played in Montenegro.

   #9. International power forward Biljana Turcinovic (186-89, currently plays in Bulgaria) was the major contributor in a Haskovo 2012's victory against the second-ranked Rilski Sportist (6-2) 79-62 in the Bulgarian NBL in Sunday night's game. She scored 17 points. Haskovo 2012 (4-6) is placed second from the bottom (#6) in the NBL. Turcinovic averaged so far 13.7ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.3spg. She used to play for the Montenegrin national team last year.

   #10. Guard Jasmina Bigovic (174-79, currently plays in Russia) couldn't help Spartak Noginsk (1-6) in their game against BC Rostov (1-6) in the Russian PBL. Bigovic was the second best scorer with 8 points. She also added 5 rebounds in 28 minutes. Spartak Noginsk was crushed 73-52 on the opponent's court by the league outsider (#10) BC_Rostov. It was Spartak Noginsk's fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Bigovic's total stats are: 3.1ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.1apg in the seven games. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.

   #11. International center Ana Turcinovic (190-93, currently plays in Eurocup) couldn't help Antakya in their game against Vologda-Chevakata in the Eurocup. Turcinovic scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Her team was crushed by 27 points 73-46. Turcinovic has averaged so far 7.3ppg and 6.0rpg. She plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #12. International power forward Sanja Knezevic (188-84, currently plays in Romania) couldn't help Sp.Studentesc in their game against Alexandria in the Romanian Division A. Knezevic scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 31 minutes. Her team lost 53-60. Knezevic has averaged so far 6.9ppg and 3.1rpg in the 12 games. She is also in the roster of the Montenegrin national team.

   #13. International center Natasa Popovic (194-82, currently plays in Russia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jasmina Bigovic and both played together in the last Russian PBL game. Popovic couldn't help Spartak Noginsk in their game against BC Rostov. She recorded only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Her team was crushed by 21 points 73-52. Popovic is currently second on the list of best blockers. She has averaged so far 5.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.3apg, 1.9bpg and 1.7spg. Popovic is also Montenegrin national team player.

   #14. Former international center Milica Cvetanovic (195-86, currently plays in Turkey) couldn't help Edremit in their game against Mersin in the Turkish TKBL. She scored 7 points in only 14 minutes. Her team lost 68-83. Cvetanovic has averaged so far 3.4ppg and 2.2rpg in the five games. She used to play for the Montenegrin national team back in 2007.

   #15. International power forward Kristina Rakovic (182-94, currently plays in Adriatic League) helped her Bosnia and Herzegovina team Mladi Krajisnik win their game against the tenth-ranked ZKK Vrsac crushing them 101-60 in the Adriatic League in Saturday night's game. Rakovic scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. She has averaged so far 6.8ppg and 4.7rpg. Rakovic used to play for the Montenegrin national team last year.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Montenegrin passport:

   #1. Mirjana Beronja (170-PG-86, currently plays in Adriatic League) led her Serbian team Radivoj Korac to a victory over the eighth-ranked Sloboda (3-8) 68-62 in the Adriatic League on Saturday night. Beronja was MVP of the game. She scored 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 36 minutes. Radivoj Korac Beograd (9-2) is placed second in group T. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. Beronja's stats this year are: 10.7ppg, 1.8rpg, 2.2apg and 1.8spg in the 11 games she played so far.

Buducnost conquer Cup title - 4 days ago
Buducnost - Lovcen 78:36 Buducnost clinched the Cup title. They edged Lovcen in the Final. Irena Matovic (186-F-88) scored 15 points and issued 7 assists for the winners. Buducnost grabbed a 29:12 lead after ten minutes. They held Lovcen to just 4 points in the second term to build a 51:16 halftime advantage. Buducnost stayed in charge throughout the second half. We bring you last week's top performances from Montenegrins who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, agency: ProDep Management). She was the major contributor in an Abdullah Gul's victory against the fourth-ranked Hatay in the Eurocup in Friday night's game.    [read more]

Lovcen Cetinje (1A ZCKL) agreed terms with 16-year old point guard Andrea Glomazic (179-1, agency: BeoBasket). She started the season at Roling Niksic in the 1A ZCKL. The last season Glomazic played also at Roling Niksic. Lovcen is currently at the second position in ZCKL ladder. They won 7 out of their 9 regular season games.
