Slobodan Tosic (195-G-80, agency: BeoExcell), former member of Yugoslavian U21 National Team, has accepted to help young Mornar's team and signed a contract until the end of season. This will be his return to the town on South Adriatic shore after 13 years away from his home town. Actually, Tosic returned to Bar after he left SEFA Arkadikos (Division 2 in Greece) in March 2012 but in the first part of season he just worked out with Mornar to keep in shape. Now he will offically start wearing blue and orange colors and be a huge addition to Mihailo Pavicevic 's team.
Tosic started his career in Mornar during the 90's and was considered one of the Top talent in his generation. He then moved to Lovcen and got recognized as shooter in whole Yugoslavia thanks to Lovcen's extraordinary achievements at the beginning of this century. After six seasons in Lovcen he moved to OKK Beograd. The sharp shooter spent the last couple of season in Bosnia and Greece averaging last year in Greece 8.7ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.1apg.

Hello Vladimir, it is known that basketball was not your first love, but as a child you started playing football and then transferred to basketball. How good was Vladimir Kuzmanovic as a football player, and do you think you could have accomplished in football a similar career?
Yes that's true. Football was my first love. I was playing for FC Beograd, since it was the closest club to my house and all kids from neighborhood went there. I was playing in offense and in 12 games I scored 9 goals. I even can't remember which league was that but you need to know it was in mid eighties and to succeed in football was simply not possible, especially if you are from Belgrade. Honestly I don't know any football player who is from Belgrade in that time, of course. Even in basketball was same situation, not so many players who made careers. I don't think I could do much but I still feels that I am better football than basketball player :-)
You have started playing basketball in OKK Beograd and then moved to BFC Beocin, a club that no longer exists but that in the mid-90s was a nightmare for the big clubs from the former Yugoslavia. In the 1995-1996 season, you played in the Finals of the Yugoslav championship coached by Miroslav Nikolic . This generation led by you, Milenko Topic (204-F-69), Zeljko Topalovic (209-C-72) took 2-0 lead in the series against Partizan and then inexplicably lost the title. What are your memories on your years in Beocin?
This is probably the best time of my life. First, I was living on my own which was biggest change and more responsibility. Then, I knew I need to go out from Belgrade to be successful. Once again, in Belgrade there is no players from Belgrade. I'm talking about the past, of course. Second, I was member of, probably, the best TEAM in this region after Yugoslavian teams. We played, great, great basketball and we made big surprise by beating Partizan in first two final games. Surprise was that big so they did everything to prevent Beocin become champions. Media pressure, referees, and a lot of things out of court were done against us. At the end , in fourth game,I broke small bone in my right foot and since I was member of starting five, nobody could replace me. We lost 3-2 but I'm still very proud I was member of that team.
After few successful seasons in BFC Beocin you get a call from Red Star Belgrade and won the League title in 1998, despite the difficult season, marked by coaching changes. But parting ways with Red Star was not the brightest example of professionalism. Can you tell us more about that?
Of course I can. Instead of keeping the team who finally won champion title, president of Red Star, fired five of us SAME NIGHT while we were celebrating big, big success. We did not know in that moment but everything become clear very soon. Dejan Miskovic (209-C-77), Igor Perovic (194-G-74), Vojkan Bencic (196-G-67), Zeljko Topalovic and me were replaced. The idea was to create even better team. What truly happened was that in next season Red Star had the worst result in Euroleague history, made by any team from Ex Yu. Even worst, direct result of this action was creating next strong team, and definitely strongest team in last 20 years-Buducnost. First move made Zeljko Topalovic who bring first Championsip title for Montenegrin team in the season 98-99. Next season Topic and me, together with Partizan players Dejan Tomasevic (208-F/C-73, agency: Beo Basket) and Haris Brkic (200-G/F-74), joined Buducnost and year after Igor Rakocevic (191-G-78) and Sasa Obradovic (196-G-69) were there too. All of us, Red Star players.
The next season in Beobanka finally promoted to one of the best guards of YUBA league. That year you had very high stats in a very high quality team led by Darko Russo (agency: Beo Basket ) and after the end of season you get a call from Buducnost, to help one ambitious project to be realized. What motivated you to replace your native Belgrade with Podgorica?
Well, moving from Red Star to Beobanka was big challenge for me because in that time coach of Beobanka was Darko Russo (agency: Beo Basket ) and everybody were saying He demands much, No one can play in his team....and things like that. I wanted to see what he can ask and I can't do. In that season I was first scorer, 2nd in assists and 4th in rebounds in the team. I was back on track again. During that season, in December, coach Nikolic wanted me to join Buducnost immediately but Russo did not want to hear it. Personally, since I was always team player and loyal to all coaches and players I was working with, I did not want to leave Beobanka before the end. So, at the end of the season I moved to Podgorica. A lot of friends and regular people were asking me: Why you are going there, since the team was composed from, basically, all NT players of that time, or at least, they were invited to NT camps. I said: I will play cos no one will do what I can do. And I found my position in this team. The reasons were simple: new challenge again and I always wanted to be in best teams. I did that in Beocin, after in Red Star so why not Buducnost. It was little bit strange to replace Belgrade with Podgorica, since there is the difference of almost 1.6 million people but I found myself there and spend 3 great years.
Buducnost won the second title in Yugoslavia with the perfect record- no defeats. The dominance of Buducnost within the boarders of Yugoslavia was more than obvious, but it is even more interesting to know the fact that due to the sanctions against Yugoslavia Buducnost was banned and did not play its Euroleague games in Podgorica but in Budapest and Sarajevo, and anyway that year reached the Final Sixteen (although it was your first Euro League experience). What was the main characteristic of this team?
As I said this was, by many relevant people, the best team in last 20 years. We made bad choice with home city. Sarajevo was big mistake cos we did not have any home court advantage. After replacing Sarajevo with Budapest things changed and from 0-5 we reached 5-5 in group stage. In quarter finals we were unlucky: our opponent was Pao. It would not be such a big deal but don't forget that year before they had sweep in group stage and they were disqualified in quarter finals! To happen again? No chance. We played great first game. I remember it cos I scored 16 points in first half and we were so close but we lost, 3-4 or 5 points, can't remember. Then in second game, in great atmosphere we beat them 20! Dejan Bodiroga (204-F-73), Zeljko Rebraca (212-C-72), Johnny Rogers (208-C/F-63, college: Cal-Irvine), and many others could not do nothing. In 3rd game....to expect to win? No way. We knew we had our chance in first game. So....Buducnost was very strong team and if there was no that bad start we could do much more than we did. Don't forget only Olympiakos and I believe Maccabi beat us twice in group stage.
Bogdan Tanjevic (agency: Interperformances ) was and still is big name of European basketball but replacing Nikolic was in bad moment. We lost some games, simply because we need to adjust to Tanjevic's way of basketball, and it result to meet Real in quarter finals. Again one of the best european teams. If we lost from Paok less than 11 in last group game, we would meet Olimpia, definitelly much easier opponent. We lost both games, easily. A lot of injuries, problems and new players, compromised teams chemistry. Personally, I know people are saying Nikolic brought me in Buducnost after Beocin so I'm lucky he is pushing me.....I was more then happy to show to all of them that coach, who probably did not know a lot about me, at least for sure he did not protected me , was giving me 33 minutes on the court! For me that was proof I was playing good and I was important part of the team.
After three successful seasons in Buducnost you moved to Belgium and then to Greece and Romania, where at the end of your career won FIBA Europe Cup with CSU-Asesoft Ploiesti. On that team was a large number of players from the former Yugoslavia and some of the well known names at that time were, besides you, Marko Rakocevic (205-C-83), Nikola Bulatovic (212-C-71, agency: Beo Basket) and Sasa Ocokoljic (183-PG-76, agency: BeoExcell). How did a small Romanian team manage to win the prestigious European competition?
Haha, well this is miracle but like you said, that was basically Serbian&Montenegrin team. Dont forget Ivan Krasic (201-G/F-73, agency: Beo Basket) and Marko Pekovic (193-G-81, agency: BeoExcell) which give us 6 quality players. We had 3 Romanian NT players and that was it. Enough to play against any team on that level..Romanians like us a lot. They respect what we accomplish in basketball and they wanted to do the same. Of course nobody expected we will win this Cup, but game by game, when we reach Final 4, everything seemed possible. I like the article still exists on FIBA site about Ploiesti and my role in that game. Since I become MVP and I was 34 I decided it is enough. I was playing 12 finals and 10 of those I won. Somebody think it is nothing but I'm very proud of it. I was Champion of Serbia for Juniors and Champion of 4 different countries (Serbia, Montenegro, Belgium and Romania). Don't forget I started with basketball when I was 17 years old. So it is 17 years of basketball. Then take 4 years of amateur contract with my first team, where I had no chance to prove myself, it gives 13 and form that perspective I think this is almost unbelievable. I don't know which actor will be chosen to play me when they decide to make a movie, but I don't care :-)))
Whats your opinion on the basketball level in former Yugoslavia now? Whats the difference in quality between the time you played professionally and new generations?
If I say there is big difference and it was more quality before, when I was playing, a lot of people would say: Who is he to say like that, he was this and that....you know. But if I say I was playing against Carlton Myers (192-G-71), Stojan Vrankovic (217-C-64), Pau Gasol (213-F/C-80), Aleksander Djordjevic (188-G-67), Arturas Karnishovas (204-F-71, college: Seton Hall), Dejan Bodiroga, Zeljko Rebraca etc....and all of them last for a long time, best players of their teams, countries....I don't see same quality today. Yes people could give some other names now but this was privilege to play against those players. Same thing happened with the region. I will not talk about money, organization etc I will say what I said after my second season in Buducnost, when contracts of two our best players, Milenko Topic and Dejan Tomasevic (208-F/C-73, agency: Beo Basket), expired, and journalist asked me: Would our league become less good if those two players leave? I said No. No? Exactly, you see.....Those two players could be replaced with, I that time very promising and talented two kids, Sasha Pavlovic (200-F/G-83) and Zarko Cabarkapa (211-F/C-81) and soon we will have new stars on basketball sky. But when this league loose players like I am, or Dejan Radonjic (188-G-70, agency: Beo Basket), Veselin Petrovic (196-G/F-77, agency: Beo Basket), Zeljko Topalovic/Borac_Nektar_Banja_Luka/2806">Zeljko Zeljko Topalovic, Goran Boskovic (198-G/F-72, agency: Beo Basket), etc, our league will not exists. I was not prophet, I did not know what future brings but I knew what quality we had.
What Vladimir Kuzmanovic does for living now and what are his plans for the future?
Since I was in basketball, well very long time, and this is my field, I'm still very active. I'm working as an agent, scout, adviser....who needs what (even my favorite position would be team manager) , looking for my place in this huge market. A lot of ups and downs, but since I was always fighter, I'm just looking forward. I was never thinking how long will last my career, I was just playing for, sometimes fun, sometimes money, but always enjoying it and now, when I look forward and think, how long will I stay in basketball, the answer is same: as long as I enjoy it.

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Montenegrin players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is U21 international power forward Marko Todorovic (210-92), who plays in Spain. He could not help Regal FC Barcelona (13-1) in their last game. Despite Todorovic's good performance the first-placed Regal FC Barcelona was edged 74-73 on the road by the leading CSKA Moscow in the group F of Euroleague.

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Montenegrin players, who play currently abroad.
#1. This week's number one is U21 international power forward Marko Todorovic (210-92, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain. He could not help Regal FC Barcelona (13-1) in their last game. Despite Todorovic's good performance the first-placed Regal FC Barcelona was edged 74-73 on the road by the leading CSKA Moscow in the group F of Euroleague.
He was the second best scorer with 11 points. Todorovic also added 4 rebounds in 20 minutes on the court.
This year Todorovic averages: 2.4ppg, 2.2rpg, 2FGP: 56.0%(14-25) and FT: 59.1% in the 18 games he played so far.
He is currently a member of the Montenegrin U21 national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international center Blagota Sekulic (209-82, agency: FCM, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB. Sekulic was not able to help CB Canarias (17-17) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance CB Canarias was edged in an overtime 111-108 in Murcia by the lower-ranked UCAM (#13).
Sekulic recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 13 rebounds.
The Regular Season already ended.
Sekulic has relatively good stats this season: 11.8ppg, 5.2rpg, 2FGP: 54.1%, 3FGP: 29.7% and FT: 72.4%.
He is in the roster of the Montenegrin senior national team.
#3. The Montenegrin player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Spain). Dubljevic led Valencia Basket to a victory over the closely-ranked Gescrap BB (19-15) 72-61 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night.
He was MVP of the game. Dubljevic scored 16 points in a mere 17 minutes.
Valencia Basket (22-12) is placed fourth in the ACB.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
This year Dubljevic has relatively solid stats: 12.1ppg, 3.7rpg, 2FGP: 54.5%, 3FGP: 47.8%(33-69) and FT: 84.2% in the 33 games.
He is also a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.
#4. Swingman Milos Borisov (198-85, currently plays in Serbia) was the main contributor in a Radnicki KG's victory against the 14th-ranked Vojvodina 85-78 in the Serbian A League in Saturday night's game.
Borisov was the best player in that game. He scored 24 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Radnicki Kragujevac (13-9) is placed third in Superliga group.
There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial.
It's Borisov's first season with the team.
Borisov has reliable stats this year: 10.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg.
He is also Montenegrin national team player.
#5. International power forward Milko Bjelica (205-84, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Caja Laboral (25-9) in their game against Asefa Estudiantes (15-19) in the Spanish ACB.
Bjelica scored 9 points.
But Caja Laboral was defeated 90-80 at home by the much lower-ranked Asefa Estudiantes (#12).
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important.
Bjelica's overall stats this season are: 5.9ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.1apg.
He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Montenegrin.
Bjelica plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.
#6. Swingman Sead Sehovic (196-89, currently plays in Hungary), who plays in the Hungarian A Division couldn't help Szolnok (8-2) in their last game. Despite his good performance Szolnok (#6) lost 82-95 in Paks to the second-ranked Atomeromu in the Places 1-6 group.
Sehovic recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in 34 minutes.
They ended the series of seven consecutive victories.
Sehovic's stats this year are: 11.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.0apg and 1.1spg in the 13 games.
He is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.
#7. International shooting guard Bojan Bakic (195-83, currently plays in Serbia) couldn't help Metalac (3-9) in their game against Mega Vizura (9-3) in the Serbian A League, despite his very good performance on Wednesday night.
He was the top scorer with 24 points. Bakic also added 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) in 35 minutes.
But Metalac (#6) was crushed 90-68 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Mega_Vizura in the Superliga group.
There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage.
Bakic is ranked first on the list of the top scorers in the league with 19.1ppg.
This year his other stats are: 2.9rpg and 2.4apg in the 25 games.
Bakic is also Montenegrin national team player.
#8. Point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (188-82, another player represented by Beo Basket, college: St.John's, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Milko Bjelica and both played together in the last Spanish ACB game.
Cook couldn't help Caja Laboral (25-9) in their game against Asefa Estudiantes (15-19).
He scored only 4 points.
Caja Laboral was defeated 90-80 on their home court in Vitoria by the much lower-ranked Asefa Estudiantes (#12).
Cook's overall stats this season are: 3.1ppg, 1.2rpg and 2.7apg.
He is a naturalized American.
Cook plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.
Strangely he has never played in Montenegro.
#9. Former international center Slavko Vranes (230-83, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Serbia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Bojan Bakic. But that was another game of his team in Serbian A League which we would like to mention.
Vranes couldn't help Metalac (3-9) in their game against Partizan (-), despite his very good performance in Sunday night's game.
He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Vranes also added 4 rebounds and made 4 blocks in 28 minutes.
But Metalac (#6) was crushed 88-62 on their home court in Valjevo by the lower-ranked (#12) Partizan in the Superliga group.
This year Vranes' overall stats are: 9.7ppg, 5.1rpg and 2.5bpg in the 12 games.
He used to play for the Montenegrin national team
two years ago.
#10. Power forward Vladimir Dasic (208-88, currently plays in Serbia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Bojan Bakic. He played also in the last Serbian A League game facing Slavko Vranes (above) in the other team.
Dasic couldn't help Metalac (3-9) in their game against Partizan (-).
He scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
But Metalac (#6) was crushed 88-62 on their home court in Valjevo by the lower-ranked Partizan (#12) in the Superliga group.
Dasic averaged so far 12.2ppg, 8.2rpg, 1.9apg and 1.8spg.
He is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.
#11. Former U21 international center Milovan Savic (205-87, currently plays in Serbia) couldn't help Konstantin in their game against Sloboda in the Serbian A League, despite his very good performance on Saturday night.
Savic was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 23 minutes.
But his team lost 71-77.
This year Savic's total stats are: 9.7ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2apg in the 33 games.
He used to play for the Montenegrin U21 national team
six years ago.
#12. Former U21 international power forward Igor Bijelic (207-88, currently plays in Bosnia) couldn't help Mladost in their game against HKK Siroki WWin in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. Despite his very good performance in Tuesday night's game Bijelic was the top scorer with 15 points. He also added 6 rebounds.
Bijelic is currently seventh on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best blockers (first place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Bijelic averages: 16.6ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1bpg.
He used to play for the Montenegrin U21 national team
back in 2007.
#13. International power forward Ivan Maras (207-86, currently plays in Greece) couldn't help Ilysiakos in their game against Olympiacos in the Greek A1.
Maras scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 27 minutes.
His team lost 70-81.
He has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.3spg in the three games.
Maras is also Montenegrin national team player.
#14. International guard Boris Bakic (193-86, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) managed to help KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom in a victory against the second-ranked Kozuv 73-57 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga in Sunday night's game.
Bakic recorded only 3 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 28 minutes.
Bakic has averaged so far 7.6ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.8apg in the 13 games.
He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.
#15. An experienced former international forward Ivan Ivanovic (205-80, currently plays in Romania) couldn't help Gaz Metan in their game against Oradea in the Romanian Liga Nationala.
Ivanovic recorded 5 points.
His team was defeated 73-68.
Ivanovic averaged so far 12.6ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.9apg.
He used to play for the Montenegrin national team
five years ago.
The list of other players, who all have Montenegrin passport but never been selected to any of Montenegrin national teams:
#1.Nikola Mirotic (207-F/C-91, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain could not help Real Madrid (10-4) to beat Olympiacos (9-5).
Mirotic recorded 7 points in 22 minutes.
Real Madrid (#2) lost 88-100 on the road to the second-ranked Olympiacos in the group E of Euroleague.
It was Real Madrid's third consecutive loss in a row.
Mirotic's stats this year are: 11.4ppg and 5.3rpg in the 29 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Spanish.
Despite Mirotic's Montenegrin passport, he previously played for the Spanish U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Montenegrin team.
#2.Radomir Marojevic (207-C-81, currently plays in Serbia) led Vojvodina to a victory over the eighth-ranked Konstantin (1-11) 86-69 in the Serbian A League last Wednesday.
Marojevic was the top player that evening. He scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
KK Vojvodina Novi Sad (7-5) is placed fourth in Superliga group.
There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical.
Marojevic's overall stats this season are: 10.0ppg and 3.4rpg.
#3.Bojan Subotic (203-F-90, currently plays in Serbia) contributed to Zvezda's victory against the third-ranked Radnicki KG (13-9) 72-66 in the Serbian A League in Wednesday night's game.
He scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Superliga. Crvena Zvezda Telekom Beograd (22-3) is placed first.
There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage.
Subotic's overall stats this season are: 5.2ppg and 2.8rpg.
#4. Experienced Branko Cuic (197-G-78, currently plays in Romania) contributed to a Targu Mures' victory against the closely-ranked Ploiesti (23-7) 91-81 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Saturday.
