Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Montenegrins who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Nikola Pekovic (209-86, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (16-20) in their last game. Despite Pekovic's very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves lost 98-113 on the road to the Dallas Mavericks. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 12 rebounds in 32 minutes on the court. It was Timberwolves' fifth consecutive loss in a row. Pekovic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 8.6rpg, 2FGP: 51.1% and FT: 74.5% in the 34 games he played so far. Pekovic is currently a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Eurocup). Dubljevic led his Spanish team Valencia Basket to a victory over the third-ranked CEZ Nymburk (1-1) 82-77 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Dubljevic scored 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 25 minutes. Valencia Basket (2-0) is placed first in group J. There are only four games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game will be critical. It's Dubljevic's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 14.8ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 58.7%(37-63), 3FGP: 35.7% and FT: 82.9% in the eight games. Dubljevic is in the roster of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #3. The Montenegrin player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Nikola Vucevic (210-90, college: USC, currently plays in NBA). He contributed to a 3-point Orlando Magic's victory against the Los Angeles Clippers (31-9) 104-101 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. Vucevic recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 15 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. The Orlando Magic has 14-24 record this season. Vucevic is currently sixth on the list of best rebounders. This season he has very high stats. Vucevic averages: 11.6ppg, 11.1rpg, 1.5apg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 51.7% and FT: 66.1%. He is also a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #4. Power forward Milko Bjelica (205-84, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague) was the major contributor in a Caja Laboral's victory against the eighth-ranked Besiktas (0-4) crushing them 77-51 in the Euroleague last Thursday. Bjelica scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. Caja Laboral Vitoria (4-0) is placed first in group F. So far his team won all four games in the Top 16. This year Bjelica's overall stats are: 4.7ppg and 2.8rpg in the 12 games. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Montenegrin. Bjelica is also Montenegrin national team player.

Former U20 international power forward Nemanja Radovic (206-91, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Serbia), who plays in the Serbian A League was not able to help Vrsac (8-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Vrsac was defeated 100-89 at home by the leading Mega_Vizura. Radovic was the top scorer with 26 points. He also added 9 rebounds. Radovic is currently sixth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (third place). This season he has very high stats. Radovic averages: 16.3ppg, 9.3rpg and 1.2apg. He used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team two years ago.

   #6. Power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Cajasol (0-2) 78-59 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. Dragicevic scored 13 points in 26 minutes. Spartak St.Petersburg (1-1) is placed second in group K. There are only four games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game is very crucial. This year Dragicevic's total stats are: 9.3ppg and 4.7rpg in the seven games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.

   #7. International swingman Suad Sehovic (196-87, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Ukraine was not able to secure a victory for Khimik (0-1) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Sehovic's very good performance the third-placed Khimik was edged 93-90 in Bursa by the leading Tofas in the group K of EuroChallenge. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Sehovic also added 9 rebounds. This season Sehovic has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.3apg. He is also Montenegrin national team player.

   #8. Swingman Sead Sehovic (196-89, currently plays in Adriatic League), who plays in Hungary couldn't help Szolnok (4-13) in their last game. Despite Sehovic's very good performance the bottom-ranked Szolnok was crushed 88-63 in Podgorica by the much higher-ranked (#4) Buducnost. He was the top scorer with 19 points. Sehovic also added 3 assists in 32 minutes. It was Szolnok's third consecutive loss in a row. Sehovic has reliable stats this year: 12.6ppg, 4.5rpg and 2.2apg in the 13 games. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #9. International shooting guard Bojan Bakic (195-83, currently plays in Serbia), who plays in the Serbian A League couldn't help Metalac (9-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Bakic's very good performance Metalac was edged 90-87 in Kraljevo by the much lower-ranked Sloga (#14). He was the second best scorer with 19 points. Bakic also added 3 assists. This season Bakic has very high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 3.2rpg and 2.7apg. Bakic is also in the roster of the Montenegrin national team.

   #10. Point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (188-82, another player represented by Beo Basket, college: St.John's, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Milko Bjelica. But that was another game of his team in Spanish ACB which we would like to mention. Cook contributed to an overtime Caja Laboral's victory against the league outsider Assignia Manresa (2-15) 101-95. He scored 6 points and added 5 assists in 25 minutes. Caja Laboral Vitoria (14-3) is placed second in the ACB. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Cook has averaged so far 5.3ppg, 1.3rpg and 4.3apg in the four games. He is a naturalized American. Cook is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster. Strangely he has never played in Montenegro.

   #11. Former U20 international power forward Nemanja Milosevic (204-87, agency: Interperformances, college: W.Kentucky, currently plays in Bulgaria) was the main contributor in a Tundja Yambol's victory against the closely-ranked Beroe 88-71 in the Bulgarian NBL in Saturday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Milosevic scored 19 points, had 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 26 minutes. Milosevic is currently eighth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (third place). He has very impressive stats this year: 16.3ppg and 8.7rpg in the seven games. Milosevic used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team five years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international guard Milorad Sutulovic (196-90, currently plays in Serbia) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked BKK Radnicki crushing them 101-76 in a derby game in the Serbian A League on Sunday night. He was the top player that evening. Sutulovic scored 20 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 33 minutes. Sutulovic's stats this year are: 11.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.1apg in the 14 games. He used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team back in 2010.

   #13. International swingman Milos Borisov (198-85, currently plays in Adriatic League) contributed to a Radnicki KG's victory against the closely-ranked MZT Skopje 89-83 in the Adriatic League last Monday. Borisov scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. Borisov has averaged so far 6.2ppg and 3.6rpg in the 16 games. He is also Montenegrin national team player.

   #14. International point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St., currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA couldn't help Angelico Biella (3-12) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Rochestie's very good performance Angelico Biella was crushed 92-59 in Cremona by the higher-ranked Vanoli (#12). He was the top scorer with 18 points. Rochestie also added 3 steals. It was his first game for Angelico Biella this season. Rochestie is a naturalized American. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team. Apparently Rochestie has never played in Montenegro.

   #15. Former international forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Austria) helped BC Vienna win their game against the eighth-ranked UBSC Graz 93-74 in the Austrian A Bundesliga in Saturday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Rakocevic scored 21 points in 29 minutes. Rakocevic is ranked second on the list of the best blockers in the league with 1.1bpg. He also averaged so far 16.7ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.3apg in the 14 games. Rakocevic used to play for the Montenegrin national team four years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Montenegrin passport but never been selected to any of Montenegrin national teams:

   #1. Nikola Mirotic (207-F/C-91, currently plays in Euroleague) led his Spanish team Real Madrid to a 1-point victory over the fifth-ranked Zalgiris (1-3) 75-74 in the Euroleague last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Mirotic scored 17 points. Real Madrid (4-0) is placed first in group E. So far his team won all four games in the Top 16. Mirotic has relatively good stats this season: 12.2ppg and 4.9rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Spanish. Despite Mirotic's Montenegrin passport, he previously played for the Spanish U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Montenegrin team.

   #2. Boris Lalovic (209-C-81, currently plays in Bosnia), who plays in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I could not help Zrinjski HT (5-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Lalovic's very good performance Zrinjski HT was defeated 76-66 at home by the higher-ranked Servitium (#7). He recorded a double-double by scoring 40 points and getting 13 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Lalovic is currently sixth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (sixth place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Lalovic averages: 18.3ppg, 7.4rpg and 1.3apg.

   #3. Radomir Marojevic (207-C-81, currently plays in Serbia), who plays in the Serbian A League was not able to help Vojvodina (11-4) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Vojvodina was edged 79-76 on the road by the lower-ranked Konstantin (#6). Marojevic scored 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Marojevic has averaged so far 8.5ppg and 3.0rpg.

   #4. Mensud Julevic (200-PF-85, currently plays in Slovenia) was the major contributor in Elektra's victory against the closely-ranked LTHcast Mercator (4-7) 86-79 in the Slovenian Telemach League in Saturday night's game. Julevic scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. KK Elektra Sostanj (6-5) is placed fifth in the Telemach League. Julevic's stats this season are: 13.0ppg, 5.6rpg and 2.0apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Montenegrin and Slovenian. Despite Julevic's Montenegrin nationality, he previously played for the Slovenian U21 national team and probably cannot be called to the Montenegrin team.

   #5. Bojan Subotic (203-F-90, currently plays in Adriatic League) managed to help Crvena Zvezda DIVA Beograd in a victory against the seventh-ranked Cedevita (9-8) crushing them 90-65 in the Adriatic League on Sunday night. He scored 5 points in 15 minutes. Crvena Zvezda DIVA Beograd (12-5) is placed second in the Adriatic League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Subotic has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 2.1rpg in the 15 games he played so far.

   #6. Luka Sjekloca (212-C-84, currently plays in Bulgaria) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Beroe 88-71 in the Bulgarian NBL on Saturday night. He scored 10 points, had 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Sjekloca has averaged so far 6.9ppg and 4.6rpg.

   #7. Slobodan Pejovic (192-PG-86, currently plays in Serbia) was not able to secure a victory for Tamis in their game against Smederevo Vizura in the Serbian A League, despite his good performance on Saturday night. He scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 32 minutes. But his team lost 62-71. Pejovic has averaged so far 6.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.3apg in the 14 games.

   #8. Experienced Branko Cuic (197-G-78, currently plays in Romania) contributed to a Targu Mures' victory against the closely-ranked Ploiesti 66-55 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Sunday. He scored 6 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Cuic is currently fourth on the list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.9ppg, 6.3rpg and 5.8apg.

   #9. Novak Popovic (207-C-81, currently plays in Bosnia) couldn't help Capljina Lasta in their game against KK Radnik Bijeljina in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I, despite his good performance on Saturday night. Popovic was the second best scorer with 11 points. He also added 4 rebounds and 2 blocks in 36 minutes. But his team lost 59-71. Popovic averaged so far 15.0ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.7apg in the 11 games.

   #10. Nikola Dragovic (206-F-87, college: UCLA, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Air Avellino in their game against VL Pesaro in the Italian SerieA. He scored 9 points. His team was defeated 78-71. Dragovic's stats this season are: 10.3ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.1spg. He has both Serbian and Montenegrin nationalities. Despite Dragovic's Montenegrin passport, he previously played for the Serbian university national team.

KK Lovcen Cetinje (Erste Liga) landed 21-year old international forward Mihailo Radunovic (203-96). He played most recently at Mornar Bar in Montenegrin Erste Liga. Radunovic managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). But in two ABA League games he averaged just 0.5ppg and 1.5rpg. He also played 4 games in Erste Liga, but he had only 0.5ppg. And finally Radunovic contributed to 4 games in Basketball Champions League where he recorded 3.0ppg and 2.0rpg. The other team he played that...   [read more]

BC Irkut Irkutsk (Superleague 1) tabbed 27-year old Montenegrin-Serbian point guard Filip Samojlovic (183-90). He played most recently at Olimpica BK Cerignola in Italian Serie C Silver. In 23 games he averaged impressive 19.8ppg last season. The previous (15-16) season Samojlovic played at Lusitania in Portuguese LPB where in 12 games he had 6.3ppg and 2.8apg. Montenegro dominate Belgium in Toulouse - 2 days ago
Montenegro - Belgium 78-64 Montenegro dominated Belgium in Toulouse at the International tournament with 4 teams. Montenegro posted a 78-64 win as two sides finished with 1-2 records. Montenegro took a 22-13 lead, but Belgium replied with a similar 22-10 surge in the second frame. In the second half Montenegro looked better and posted two comfotbale vicotries.
