Brandon Roberson's press release: I wish Ibar all the best - Jan 19, 2013

I want to inform basketball community in Montenegro upon recent situation related with my former club Ibar and speculation made about me. I am very sorry that we came to situation where we need to write to each other over media but since my name and reputation and as well professionalism is questioned I will not stay silent and I will give my last statement upon of this issue.

Im a mature man and I make my own decisions in life and decision to leave the club I made after long thinking and consulting everything with my family and club board is informed about that in person. I am not anybodies slave so no one should be able to manipulate me like club presented in last public release. I was very surprised to see what was written because both parties handled things in a very professionally order in yesterdays meeting it wasn't any signs of miss communication during the meeting, so to look on Eurobasket at what was posted about the whole situation was very mind boggling and shocking to me.

About me having a contract with the club it is true I signed it but I never received a copy of that contract even after I asked for it large number of times and last time I asked it was few days ago and I am sure I have right to have a copy of it so when somebody claim for rights it is fair first to respects rights of others.

Details about situation in the club I will not comment but when you have team captain Mersudin Kosuta legend of the club leave few days ago, head coach Rejhan Palamura (agency: BBEH Cokrlija ) (agency: BBEH Cokrlija ) that made hysteric success by promoting team into top league leave as well and me as best player and scorer of the team leave club to everyone this is very clear that things are not the best in club organization and about details I would really prefer all internal club problems to stay in the club because my goal is not to criticize Ibar but to protect myself and my integrity.

About my loyalty to the club I just want to say that I rejected 5 offers during first part of the season just to stay in the club and help the team be competitive but when things started to get very unorganized and stressful to me I didn't feel the same loyalty as I was giving them during some of my tough times their. I was lowest paid import player this year in Montenegro and with my display I showed very clear that my main motive by coming to Ibar was not financial and I did everything in my power to do best for the club. Only reason why I came to the club is coach Rejhan Palamura (agency: BBEH Cokrlija ) and I am very grateful for having a chance to work with him. Also because it was first division in a respectful league so I accepted to play for lowest salary and I am sure I made best decision by doing that.

At the end I just want to say that me leaving the club is related only with my personal goals and desire to put my family into better position and it has nothing to do with any other player or person. I made that decision by myself yesterday after 5 hour meeting I had with all board members and at the end of meeting both parties hugged and shook hands wishing each other good luck in the future and showed understanding for my decision to leave.

I will use this chance to thank everybody in Ibar for cooperation and I wish all best to club in remaining part of the season.

Erste Basketball League Round 1: A good night for guests, only Sutjeska wins at home - 5 days ago

The new season in Montenegrin basketball league started yesterday and all 4 games were played. The curiosity is that 3 out of 4 guests won and it gives the special taste to the first round. The only team that was able to open the season with a home win is Sutjeska. They won 94-77 against the newcomer from Herceg Novi in a game that was closer than the final score says. However, in the last quarter more experienced team from Niksic played better and secured a win. Marko Perovic (203-C-92)...   [read more]

Jedinstvo welcomes back Draskovic - 6 days ago

KK Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje (Erste Liga) tabbed 31-year old Montenegrin center Danilo Draskovic (207-85, agency: BeoExcell). It is actually his comeback to Bijelo Polje as he has played here before. Draskovic played most recently at Lucon Basket Club in French NM2 league. The previous (14-15) season he played at CEP Lorient (also in NM2). Draskovic's team made it to the Radivoj Korac (Serbian Cup) Semifinals in 2011. He is a very experienced player. Draskovic has played also professionally...   [read more]
